The computer information technology AS degree prepares you for jobs such as PC support specialist, help desk specialist, microcomputer specialist, software specialist and information systems specialist.

This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year college/university degree in such fields as history, humanities, education, pre-law, political science, museum studies, journalism, library science, archeology/classics or international studies programs. This pathway is broadly designed to allow students to cater the major to their own interests, however, students are encouraged to meet with a full-time history faculty member to discuss their program interests in their first semester at HCC.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first?time?in?college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in computer and information technology security.  Cybersecurity degrees lead to positions as a systems administrator, intelligence analyst, network engineer, information security manager, network security engineer, or information systems analyst.

The digital media multimedia technology developer AS degree teaches you how to design and produce digital projects with multimedia hardware and software. Prepare for jobs such as desktop publisher, production designer, electronic publisher, illustrator, multimedia specialist, multimedia presentation developer, interface designer, computer graphic designer, and project manager.

A radiographer performs various radiographic procedures and techniques that result in images that are interpreted by a licensed physician.  The radiography AS degree trains you to apply x-ray energy to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. The graduate of the Radiography Program is eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist's (ARRT) examination and will also be eligible for a State of Florida General Radiographer license.

This program offers six CEU credits in the spring and fall of each year.

Nursing is a challenging, rewarding career. A nationwide nursing shortage means great career opportunities are available. Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), our nursing AS degree program takes four semesters, and graduates are eligible to take the National licensing exam NCLEX. The culinary management AS degree teaches you the skills necessary to work as a cook or chef, and prepares you for commercial and institutional management positions in the culinary industry. If you're previously or currently employed in these occupations, this program offers supplemental training.

The coursework includes sanitation and safety; maintenance and operation of equipment; recognition and identification of foods; proper storage of equipment; methods of preparation; usage of foods; methods of cooking; garde manger; performing different types of food services; nutrition; baking; communication skills; math skills; computer applications; supervision management; professionalism; culinary organization; food and beverage purchasing; dining room management; and beverage management. Students also receive training in communications, leadership, human relations, finance, employability skills, sanitation and safety, and efficient work practices.

Accredited by the American Culinary Federation Foundation, this program provides hands-on experiences in a simulated job environment with industry equipment, supplies and standards.

• The dental AA pathway degree is for students who wish to pursue a Bachelor's degree toward a career in dentistry.

The Liberal Arts & Sciences pathway is designed for students who want to pursue a bachelor's degree in a variety of fields. Depending upon the focus of study, careers are available in such fields as linguistics, criminal justice, history, ethnic studies, foreign language, social sciences, journalism and computer science.
