The mass communications AA pathway degree is perfect for students seeking a Bachelor's degree in mass communications, journalism, advertising, public relations, education or telecommunications. This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year college/university degree in such fields as history, humanities, education, pre-law, political science, museum studies, journalism, library science, archeology/classics or international studies programs. This pathway is broadly designed to allow students to cater the major to their own interests, however, students are encouraged to meet with a full-time history faculty member to discuss their program interests in their first semester at HCC.

The HCC Statistics Associate in Arts degree pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in statistics or a related field at a four-year university. If you are a licensed or licensure-eligible paramedic, or have been accepted into the paramedic program, the emergency medical services AS degree program offers you an opportunity to specialize in education, management or technology.

Course work combines classroom lecture, practical skills laboratory and actual patient clinical experiences. The lecture portion (seven credit hours) covers the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards for the Emergency Medical Technician as well as skills required by the state. The practical skills laboratory portion (three credit hours) includes application practice and performance testing in simulated patient care situations. The clinical portion (two credit hour) provides actual patient care during transport to a hospital and in the hospital setting.

Digital forensics (sometimes known as digital forensic science) is a branch of forensic science encompassing the recovery and investigation of material found in digital devices, often in relation to computer crime.

The digital forensics AS degree prepares you for a career in security concepts and computer forensics investigations. Develop proficiency in basic and advanced security concepts, computer forensics investigations, and other skills related to this field.

The health navigator AS degree trains you for the important roles of health navigator, patient navigator or community health worker.

As a health navigator, you assist the elderly and those who have limited health literacy with accessing and maximizing benefits from community services, clinical care, and health insurance. You may also facilitate access to care and follow-up for patients with complex health issues such as cancer or HIV. Health navigators assist with identifying and enrolling patients in various health insurance plans including ACA Exchanges, Medicaid, Medicare, and disability services.

Health navigators are liaisons between patients, caregivers, and health care providers; they are advocates within a complex health care system to improve patient care.

Cybersecurity prepares students for jobs in the fields of computer systems analyst, computer network specialist, computer support specialist or network systems engineer. Students will learn how to prevent security breaches by hardening network defenses through implementing security policies and vigorous testing of policies.
