The Professional Masters Program in Toxicology transitions graduates into MD, DVM, PharmD and other professional programs, as well as prepares students for research careers in industry and academia. Toxicology integrates closely with other medical and applied disciplines including Pharmacology, Forensic Science, Environmental Health, Ecological Toxicology, Infectious Disease, Nutrition and Food Safety, and Veterinary Science.

The toxicology program ranges from 1-2 years, depending on student interests and career goals. Many students enhance their skill set and improve their competitiveness for professional programs by taking advantage of internships, group study & laboratory courses and research opportunities in additional semesters.

The track will prepare students for ‌careers‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌variety‌ ‌of‌ ‌governmental‌ ‌and‌ ‌non-governmental‌ ‌organizations,‌ ‌ranging‌ ‌from‌ ‌non-profits‌ ‌to‌ ‌advocacy‌ ‌groups‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌private‌ ‌sector.‌ It ‌will‌ ‌also‌ ‌serve‌ ‌students‌ ‌who‌ ‌plan‌ ‌to‌ ‌continue‌ ‌their education‌ ‌in‌ ‌professional‌ ‌schools‌ ‌or‌ ‌Ph.D.‌ ‌programs, or secondary school educators who would like to deepen their expertise in‌ ‌the‌ ‌humanities‌ ‌and‌ ‌social‌ sciences.‌

The International Studies major is an interdisciplinary program designed to help you explore and understand the nature of diverse cultures and peoples. You’ll learn a broad range of subjects, all of which contribute to a wide range of job prospects from government, academics, law and foreign service to communications, media, journalism, and beyond. Within the major, you’ll have multiple opportunities to travel, learn languages, and explore cultures around the world. This major includes an accelerated option for students to graduate on a faster schedule.

Asian Studies - Concentration
Students focus on Asian cultures and societies through a combination of history, religions, philosophy, literature, art, and political science, along with three years of language (Chinese, Japanese, or substitution with advisor approval) to help them interpret Asia’s present and past. Geographical study areas include China, Korea, Japan, the Indian Subcontinent, the Pacific Islands, and more.

It’s no secret that knowing other languages opens doors to a world of opportunities. This major offers undergraduate instruction in 10 languages, concentrations in French, German and Spanish, and opportunities for education abroad. You’ll gain the ability to communicate in another tongue, but also to analyze literary texts and films, to understand the workings of language, to appreciate diversity and to interact successfully across cultures.

Spanish - Concentration
Courses include language, linguistics, translation, Latin American literatures and cultures, Peninsular literatures and cultures and Transatlantic studies. Students join the Spanish Club, El Centro, and study abroad.

The Major in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics prepares students to apply economic tools to evaluate the allocation and utilization of natural resources and the management of the natural environment. Economic analysis provides a strong basis to guide societal choices that directly and indirectly affect our environment. Economic theory provides a framework for understanding both environmental and natural resource issues, predicting the likely effects of government policies and regulations, and devising solutions to pressing economic and environmental problems.

This major differentiates from other programs of study that address natural resource management in that it focuses on weighing the private and public implications of choices that we make ranging from a local through a global scale. To broaden their technical training, students majoring in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics can simultaneously complete a second major in Natural Resource Management, or other more specialized majors offered through the Warner College of Natural Resources.

You might be interested in the “boots on the ground” side of agriculture, but you also might be interested in policies that affect it. Maybe you want to work in the government to help support the businesses that grow/develop food. Graduate study in Sociology at CSU is designed to provide the qualified student with professional competence in sociological theory and research methods, and social change. The graduate program in Sociology at Colorado State University focuses on social change and our faculty members carry out applied and policy research nationally and internationally on the causes and consequences of social change on individuals, communities, and nations. Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) is an exciting field with many career opportunities. The mission of this interdepartmental major is to prepare professionals dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals, families, and the communities and environments in which they live and/or work.

Students graduate with an interdisciplinary perspective about the challenges encountered by families and consumers. Through coursework, students gain skills to assist families and consumers with quality of life decisions and challenges related to interpersonal/human relationships, consumer and financial resource management, personal development, nutrition and wellness, and balancing family and work.

This program emphasizes the management and problem-solving skills needed to be a responsible and productive individual, family member, and worker. Students take coursework in a variety of departments including, but not limited to:

Students have the option of the FCS concentration or the FCS Education concentration. Upon graduating, students will be eligible to take the exam to be certified in FCS with the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

The Department of Construction Management maintains close ties to the construction/engineering/architecture industry and offers applied research opportunities. The program focuses on research and theory with a strong emphasis on project management. The curriculum design allows students to tailor a portion of the specialization requirements to meet individual interests and goals.
