Mathematics
An undergraduate mathematics degree from Hofstra University opens up a world of career possibilities in business, computer science, engineering, the physical sciences, and education. With a thorough grounding in both pure and applied mathematics, a BA or BS in math from Hofstra will help you pave the way to a career in teaching, finance, industry, science, and more.

In the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program, students can work toward a career in electrical engineering or opt for a computer engineering focus. You will first build a foundation in universal engineering theories, mathematics, and the physical sciences before moving on to more specialized courses. This program is ABET-accredited.

Computer Engineering Option
Students pursuing this option will take courses in the Department of Computer Science such as:

• Data Structures, Algorithms and Object-Oriented Programming
• Assembly Language Programming
• Embedded Systems Design
• Robotics

Television Production and Studies

The BA in Television Production and Studies focuses on the creative side of the television industry, from scriptwriting and editing to directing and producing. Choose from courses in television aesthetics and criticism, shows and showrunners, sitcom production, sports reporting and production, digital editing, lighting, and single- and multi-camera production.

The BS in Video, Television, and Business combines an in-depth overview of television production and industry standards with coursework in legal issues, contracts, marketing, and management. If you are interested in working on the business side of media and entertainment, this program will give you the specialized skills and acumen you need to make killer deals.

The BA in Anthropology includes classes in four fields of study: physical anthropology (also known as biological anthropology), archaeology, linguistic anthropology, and cultural anthropology. Students can take courses such as Medical Anthropology; Sex, Gender, and Sexuality Cross-Culturally; Archaeology; Forensic Anthropology; and Food & Culture.

This degree offers a broad-based program, with fewer major hours and more liberal arts elective hours.

Performance Concentration
This concentration provides a solid foundation for a career in the art of music. The program of study focuses on a core of substantial training and experience in the chosen performance medium.

This is a more intensive program, with more required coursework in fine arts and art history than the BA degree. In addition, students must select a specialization from one of the following areas:

• Painting
• Design and New Media and Industrial Design
• Photography
• Sculpture
• Ceramics

Music Business
This concentration prepares student musicians for careers in publishing, recording, sales, management, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, and the many other fields that make up the music business.
