Economics
As an economics student at Hofstra, you will learn about every level of economics – from how people go about the everyday business of making a living, to how our shared actions and attitudes affect the livelihoods of every person on the planet. You will be exposed to a wide variety of ideas about how corporate, regional, national, and international economies grow and change over time. And you will gain insights into how sound economic policies influence and inform nearly every aspect of society.

The BA in Mathematical Economics focuses more on the use of analytical tools to understand broader economic issues. Students in this program often pursue careers in government, consulting, or academic research.

The BS in Philosophy degree is focused on philosophical areas that are relevant to another professional, technical or scientific discipline. This degree differs from the BA program primarily because it requires students to complete more requirements in a discipline outside philosophy, either through a double major.

Computer Engineering

The BACHELOR of SCIENCE in COMPUTER ENGINEERING program is concerned with the design of hardware and software for computing devices and systems. Computer Engineering students take a rigorous set of courses in hardware and software related topics. Graduates with a degree in computer engineering typically secure jobs that involve the design of embedded systems, mobile devices, automotive sensing and control systems and biomedical devices to name a few. They are also capable of working in software roles such as software engineering and web and mobile development.

Concentration in Gaming and Graphics
The Concentration in Gaming and Graphics is aimed at educating students in the design and development of video games and game engines.  This is a very exciting and growing industry. Video games have permeated all segments of population and industry from entertainment to educational. All courses in this concentration include a significant experiential component.

The BS in Psychology is more appropriate if you are planning post-graduate studies in medicine or other health-related professions. It provides a solid background in basic biomedical sciences as well as in behavioral and cognitive sciences.
