Forensic science is the application of science to investigations pertaining to the legal system. Forensic scientists apply principles and techniques of various sciences to the examination and comparison of biological evidence, trace evidence, impression evidence, drugs, and firearms.

The profession requires critical thinking, communication skills, the application of natural and physical sciences to legal issues, and ethical responsibility. This program provides students with a strong foundation in physical and natural sciences and acquaints them with various relevant aspects of the legal system.

Children's and YA Literature

The department’s newest concentration draws on the resources and faculty expertise within the English Department and also reaches out to other areas of the University, including child psychology and literacy studies.

The BS in Community Health is closely aligned with its sister program, the BS in Health Science, which is designed for students who are interested in exploring clinical career paths such as dentistry, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, or medicine. This management degree focuses on operations, including what it takes to get products and services smoothly into the hands of consumers, from supply and distribution to transportation and logistics. You'll take classes in subjects like e-commerce, service operations management, and purchasing.

The BS has an options requirement – areas of specialized learning. Choose from Cell and Molecular Biology; Ecology and Evolution; Marine Biology; Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental and Pre-Veterinary Studies; and Secondary Education.

This degree is for students who may be interested in a double major in areas such as education, marketing, computer science, or film. Students have the option of a general fine arts degree, or a specialization in design, painting, or sculpture-industrial design.
