Forensic Science
Forensic science is the application of science to investigations pertaining to the legal system. Forensic scientists apply principles and techniques of various sciences to the examination and comparison of biological evidence, trace evidence, impression evidence, drugs, and firearms.

The profession requires critical thinking, communication skills, the application of natural and physical sciences to legal issues, and ethical responsibility. This program provides students with a strong foundation in physical and natural sciences and acquaints them with various relevant aspects of the legal system.

The Master of Arts program in marriage and family therapy provides the skills necessary to function as a marriage and family therapist. Marriage and family therapy is one of the fastest-growing mental health fields and focuses on the emotional life of the family unit rather than the individual client. The program combines classroom instruction with intensive field experience and includes supervision in a field setting. This program is registered by the New York State Education Department as licensure-qualifying, which means that all supervised client contact hours gained on the program can be counted toward the total required for licensure as a marriage and family therapist in the state of New York.

Sociology
If you are interested in human behavior, inspired by social justice and activism, and curious about how cultural institutions and societal structures shape our lives, you'll find a home in sociology.

The study of sociology applies scientific theory to get to the root of how societies work and why they don't, and uses scientific tools to study and find solutions to problems such as gender and racial inequities, homelessness, poverty, and gun violence.

Take your place as an innovative leader in sports and recreation through the Master of Science in Sports Science at Hofstra University. Develop a design and implementation skill set for creating training programs that enhance athletic performance and reduce injuries. Choose from two concentrations: Strength and Conditioning, and Exercise Physiology. Apply what you learn in the classroom to the real world through fieldwork experiences. Scholarships are available for qualified candidates.

Mechanical Engineering
With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, you’ll learn to apply principles of engineering, physics, mathematics, and materials science toward a general career in mechanical engineering or concentrate on aerospace engineering. The program is ABET-accredited.

Pursue your Master of Health Administration at Hofstra University in-person or online and study with leading faculty in the field of healthcare, including executives in some of New York’s leading health services organizations. You can enroll full or part-time and decide if you want to take your classes on campus or take advantage of our immersive, asynchronous online option. You can also choose from two optional academic tracks: Operations Management and Long-Term Care Administration. The classical tradition is not trapped in dusty old books on library shelves; it exists in the way we speak, the way we think, what we read, the music we listen to, and what we watch on television and in movies. From democracy to gender, from theater to athletics, from philosophy to the very way in which we understand history – the legacy of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds lives all around us.

The classics program will introduce you to authors, texts, and ideas that constitute the foundational literature of the Western tradition. As we become increasingly globalized, you will benefit from learning to read, critique, and analyze ancient Greek and Roman literature.

Classical Languages and Literatures
The concentration in Classical Languages and Literatures emphasizes language training in ancient Greek and/or Latin and provides the student with a strong background in classical literature and in related areas of study within classics – for example, ancient history, philosophy, art history, and the religious traditions of Greece and Rome and early Christianity.

The Bachelor of Science is appropriate for students planning graduate studies in biology and professional pursuits in the fields of biology, medicine or higher education. The BS has an options requirement – areas of specialized learning. Choose from Cell and Molecular Biology; Ecology and Evolution; Marine Biology; Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental and Pre-Veterinary Studies; and Secondary Education.

An INTO Hofstra Graduate Pathway program in Cbersecurity will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master’s degree program at Hofstra University. Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your next semester of graduate study at Hofstra University. This transition from an INTO Hofstra program to a university degree program is called progression.

Cybersecurity - Management and Policy Concentration
The MS in Cybersecurity (Technology Concentration) is intended for students who wish to obtain both technical and managerial skills in the area of security and privacy for enterprise data, systems and networks. Graduates of the concentration will be able to be:

• Design and implement software and protocols for building secure computational systems.
• Evaluate security architectures to reduce the risk of cyber-attacks, limit damage from intrusion, and recover rapidly from them.
• Create and use effective tools for security operations, security engineering, and vulnerability management.

The Strength and Conditioning concentration is designed to prepare students to work with athletes as strength and conditioning coaches in college, professional, private, and secondary school settings. Students will develop the skills necessary to design and implement population-specific training programs that enhance athletic performance and reduce injury risk. The foundation of course work is in areas of bio-mechanics, exercise physiology, performance testing, periodization, program design, and sport nutrition. In addition, all students will have opportunities to complete various fieldwork experiences.
