Art History
This degree offers classes in the study of art and architecture, from cave paintings to new media installations. Students learn about medieval art and works of the Italian Renaissance, the Romantic, Baroque, and Gothic Ages. They learn about artistic movements and how the study of art highlights issues related to politics, culture, and religion.

Forensic Linguistics, the scientific study of language, is a vital investigative tool for law enforcement and intelligence experts in the United States and around the world. The Master of Arts (MA) in Forensic Linguistics, the first program of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, will teach you how to use a linguist’s core tools, including phonetics, syntax, semantics and sociolinguistics, to analyze language in legal and other real-world settings. Learn from brilliant scholars who have worked with the FBI and consulted on an extensive array of criminal cases and counterterrorism efforts. The criminology program’s objective is to provide students with sound methodological and analytic skills, leading to critical understanding of criminal behavior and the operation of the criminal justice system. The program will prepare you for further studies, decision-making, and leadership positions in the fields of law, criminal justice administration, policy development, and national security.

Students majoring in criminology will take required classes like:

• Introduction to Criminology
• Sociology of Crime and Delinquency
• Theoretical Perspectives on Crime and Justice
• Statistics in Sociology or Statistics in Psychology
• Research Methods in Sociology

Students will then take courses in two categories: Crime and Justice and Law, Politics, and Society, as well as electives such as Ethics in Policing; Domestic Violence; Mental Illness and Criminal Behavior; Gender, Crime, and Criminal Justice; and Crime Scene Investigation Methods.

The program is designed to provide students with a sound foundation in business principles, while also ensuring they have a strong understanding of the cybersecurity field. It provides the MBA students with an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of cybersecurity as well as the interconnections between enterprise businesses and security solutions. The core coursework of cybersecurity includes threat analysis, cyber defense, penetration testing, digital forensics, privacy, regulation and policy.

Mechanical Engineering
With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, you’ll learn to apply principles of engineering, physics, mathematics, and materials science toward a general career in mechanical engineering or concentrate on aerospace engineering. The program is ABET-accredited.

The Bachelor of Arts in Geology is better suited for students planning to teach Earth Science at the secondary school level or STEM at the elementary school level. The BA requirements leave room for electives so that students can explore other interests or double major in another subject, like journalism, GES, or sustainability.

Urban Ecology
The BA program is appropriate for students whose interests in urban ecology are more focused on the social and political aspects of the field and less on the science. It is also a good choice for students planning to pursue graduate studies in other areas, such as education, geography, global studies, law, political science, or engineering.

This field is growing as sustainability becomes increasingly important to society. Urban ecologists study vegetation, water flow, wildlife, and open spaces in cities to monitor the health of these resources and how they respond to pollution, development, and other pressures. We monitor nutrient flow from lawns and industry into oceans; help design buildings and large developments to make them more sustainable and appealing; run nature and interpretive programs ranging from very small to citywide; study the effects of invasive species; and explore the positive impacts that green spaces have on biodiversity and human health.

Urban Ecology is a subfield of ecology that deals with the distribution, abundance and interactions of plants and animals (including humans) within urban and suburban environments. Graduates with master's degrees in urban ecology find employment in a wide variety of public and private institutions and agencies, including environmental education, environmental consulting, natural resource management and conservation with both non-governmental and local/state/federal organizations. Some pursue advanced professional degrees.
