Hofstra's International Business program integrates the social, cultural, political, legal, ethical, technological, geographic, environmental, and economic factors that play a role when conducting business abroad.

International Year One in Engineering will prepare you to enter your next semester of a bachelor’s degree program at Hofstra University. Electrical Engineering
In the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program, students can work toward a career in electrical engineering or opt for a computer engineering focus. You will first build a foundation in universal engineering theories, mathematics, and the physical sciences before moving on to more specialized courses.

Computer Engineering Option
Students pursuing this option will take courses in the Department of Computer Science such as:

Provides instruction for dramatic writers across all platforms, offering deep study in professional writing practice in pre-professional settings, to prepare our graduates to excel in “writing rooms” for all manner of screen media, new and old.

Criminology
The criminology program’s objective is to provide students with sound methodological and analytic skills, leading to critical understanding of criminal behavior and the operation of the criminal justice system. The program will prepare you for further studies, decision-making, and leadership positions in the fields of law, criminal justice administration, policy development, and national security.

An INTO Hofstra Graduate Pathway program in Data Science will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master’s degree program at Hofstra University. Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your next semester of graduate study at Hofstra University. This transition from an INTO Hofstra program to a university degree program is called progression.

Data Science
The program prepares students for advanced careers in data engineering, quantitative research, machine learning, and data analytics. The curriculum includes the mathematical and algorithmic knowledge and skills used in different aspects of data science such as data science, data mining and visualization, statistical analysis and inference, and machine learning. The program provides a strong foundation in mathematical methods used in data science, including linear algebra, statistical inference, and optimization, as well as a wide range of applied topics in machine learning, data science, and data mining. Students will develop strong data analytics and computational skills.

The major concentration enables students to establish a strong base of specialized knowledge in one of the areas of study represented in the Zarb School of Business. This complements the skills in the various functional areas of business, as well as the professional leadership and management orientation.

The MBA in Accounting program prepares students for managerial positions in various types of organizations. The program builds on core business competencies and functional specialization to impart to its students decision analysis skills and a strategic perspective of business problems. This program is not intended to include sufficient course work in accounting and taxation to qualify students for licensure as certified public accountants. Students intending to pursue licensure may need to supplement the program requirements with other accounting, business, legal studies, and tax courses, taken under advisement.

Biology - Ecology and Evolution

The Bachelor of Science is appropriate for students planning graduate studies in biology and professional pursuits in the fields of biology, medicine or higher education. The BS has an options requirement – areas of specialized learning. Choose from Cell and Molecular Biology; Ecology and Evolution; Marine Biology; Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental and Pre-Veterinary Studies; and Secondary Education.
