Theatre - Design/Production
Welcome to the Production Design and Technology sequence at Illinois State University's School of Theatre and Dance! This is where your talent and skills turn into magic on stage. You will create exciting theatrical environments filled with costumes, scenery, lights and sound. We in the production and design technology sequence make it happen in our shops, in the rehearsal hall, and in the classroom. You will have hands-on opportunities to practice your chosen craft and experiment with others you never dreamed of mastering. Master of Music in Performance students are afforded intensive applied study with a professionally accomplished artist-teacher. Performance degrees are offered in all orchestral and band instruments, as well as in piano, guitar, and voice.

    The MM in Performance prepares you for a career in:

• Broadway
• Opera houses
• Teaching at the college level

    The MM in Performance curriculum includes:

• Applied music
• Music pedagogy and literature
• Analysis for Performers
• History
• Research
• Ensembles
• Electives which could include: Non-degree recitals, music technology, music history, music theory, music education, music therapy, music business, applied music, jazz studies and non-music courses
• A written comprehensive exam and a recital are required for graduation.

The Bachelor of Music Education (BME) provides the foundation of critical skills and knowledge necessary for our teacher candidates' preparation towards licensure. Most importantly, these experiences help foster a strong educational philosophy focused on leadership and service to all students so that their lives are affected by the beauty of music.

Information Systems - Integration of Enterprise Systems
Integration of Enterprise Systems is a sequence in the Information Systems major.

Information Systems (IS) is at the heart of any organization. Companies rely on information to make good decisions, create new products and services, and understand their target audience. IS professionals integrate hardware and software to help organizations manage their information.

The Information Systems program at Illinois State is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.

This sequence focuses on the use of large-scale computers known as mainframes. Mainframes have powerful processing capabilities. When you make purchases online or in-person using a credit card, there is typically a mainframe in the background processing thousands of transactions per second.

The Information Systems (IS) Major is designed to prepare professionals for the Information Systems field, including systems analysis and design and software engineering. This degree focuses on the use of computer technology and information management methods to solve business problems, utilizing an understanding of both the organizational context of the problem and the technologies, methodologies, and tools typically utilized.

Middle Level Teacher Education
The Middle Level Teacher Education program at Illinois State prepares candidates with a unique expertise in teaching young adolescents with a focus on grades 5-8.

As a Middle Level Teacher Education student, you are required to choose two subject areas in which to focus your studies. These concentration areas are supplemented with additional courses from related disciplines. Illinois State is the only middle level program in Illinois that requires candidates to have two content areas, giving our graduates greater flexibility in pursuing teaching opportunities and encourages graduates to consider cross-curricular teaching and learning experiences for their pupils.

Middle Level Teacher Education is a vibrant, innovative program that prepares the majority of highly trained candidates for Illinois middle level schools. New candidates become part of the 60-year history of middle level education at Illinois State.

The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

The Department of Mathematics offers graduate-level courses in statistics leading to a Master of Science degree in mathematics focusing on statistics. The graduate program offers students the opportunity for further training in Applied Statistics—training that positions them to pursue additional graduate studies or jobs in many fields.

Marketing - Professional Sales
The Professional Sales sequence exposes students to the latest theories and practice in sales education, research, and the profession. Students complete three required courses in marketing and two required and three elective courses in professional sales. The program incorporates existing personal selling and sales management courses, and offers several specialized classes including: Key Account and Relationship Management, Professional Sales Planning and Analysis, and Advanced Professional Selling and Negotiation.

As a student in our program, you’ll dive deep into cultures, language, and artifacts from the ancient past. You’ll see firsthand how anthropology has major impacts on issues we face today, like poverty, health, and social justice.

Your learning doesn’t stop in the classroom. Our program cares deeply about civic engagement. You’ll join other students who share your passion for helping others and apply your knowledge to real-world projects that make a positive difference.

The Anthropology field is diverse and offers you the opportunity to pursue your own curiosity. At Illinois State, we’ll give you a basic foundation in all the interesting aspects of Anthropology. From there, you can choose to focus on whatever interests you most.
