Interior Design
Interior Design considers the design of the immediate physical environment. Interior designers plan the inside places of homes, public buildings and commercial establishments. They analyze clients' needs and requirements, lay out space, prepare working drawings and specify interior materials and finishes. They also work to develop appropriate heating and lighting plans, prepare budgets and construction drawings and supervise the installation of the design project.

Environmental Sciences
The Environmental Sciences Graduate Program provides curricula leading to M.A. M.S., Professional Science Master's (PSM) and Ph.D. degrees in environmental science. The curricula integrates thinking across disciplines, especially life, physical, and social sciences. Environmental science explores natural processes on earth and their alteration by human activity.

Oregon State University has exceptional strength in many of the disciplines, including science, agriculture, forestry, engineering, public health, liberal arts, social science, and oceanography and atmospheric science. Strength in these disciplines allows the ES graduate program to provide high-quality interdisciplinary education for environmental scientists and continuing postgraduate educational opportunities to scientists who are already active in the field.

The Digital Communication Arts degree focuses on the storytelling capacity of media and prepares students to be successful navigators of ever-changing technology. Students in this major will learn alternative writing approaches, nonlinear storytelling, multiple formats, and how mediated storytelling affects the story itself. They investigate how our culture will change as people shift from multiple streams of communication to information flow on a single device, and how the structures of traditional media will adapt. Courses focus on several dimensions of media adoption and adaptation including access and inclusivity, personalization and privacy, science and business. New media requires continuous research and development. Practitioners will need to be prepared to be life-long learners.

Manufacturing Engineering
The MfgE program lays the foundation for being a successful engineer. Along with an introductory industrial and manufacturing engineering course, you'll take courses in basic engineering science, math and statistics, chemistry and physics, and oral and written communication. The junior & senior year of your OSU MfgE education focuses on strengthening and extending your discipline-specific knowledge and experience. Core coursework in MfgE includes manufacturing materials and processes, production engineering, production planning and control, computer aided design and manufacturing, design of mechanical devises and work systems, lean manufacturing systems engineering, thermal–fluid sciences, design on experiments, simulation, and statistical quality control.

Public Health
We offer the most comprehensive range of accredited public health graduate degree program in Oregon and are gaining momentum and enthusiasm as the state’s first accredited college of public health. Our public health program is built on the foundation of environmental health sciences, biostatistics, epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, and health management and policy. Our curricula incorporate an ecological approach to disease prevention and health promotion, including cultural, social, environmental, behavioral and economic factors that impact population health.

We offer an array of concentrations representing the varied disciplines of public health practice. By 2,500 years ago, people had begun to dig a little deeper — asking big questions that gave rise to civilization, art and philosophy. What does it mean to be human? Why do we behave the way we do? What is our purpose? Anthropologists have been trying to answer those questions ever since.

As an anthropologist, you will spend your days studying the people of the past in order to better understand the present. Whether by capturing oral histories, fundraising for a nonprofit or researching the dynamic way cultural ideas shift over time, you’ll use the knowledge you gain at Oregon State to make the world a kinder, more imaginative place.

Liberal Studies
The Liberal Studies (LS) program's mission is to facilitate the development and implementation of an interdisciplinary, thematically-based learning program selected by the student. Liberal Studies themes are as varied as your imagination. Some themes, such as "Cultural Studies through Literature" draw on two or three liberal arts disciplines to provide students with a broad-based understanding of how people interact and maintain cultural structures and social institutions. Other themes, such as "event coordination" prepare students for a particular type of work in specific industries. Public Health
As a public health professional, you’ll work behind the scenes to prevent disease and protect and promote health. You’ll take a holistic look at disease and injury prevention, including environmental issues, health policies and what we call the social determinants of health, which are the social and environmental conditions in which we are born, grow, live, work and age. In addition, you’ll address health across the lifespan, health disparities and health equity. You’ll also have the opportunity to work locally, nationally and internationally on critical health issues in one of the few undergraduate public health programs in the country.

Geography and geospatial science provide approaches and tools to address pressing issues affecting communities, nations and the planet. At OSU students combine geography — the study of human and Earth system processes in space and time — and geospatial science — the collection, analysis, and presentation of spatial data — to analyze and interpret change in the environment and human society. The program has three areas of excellence: geospatial analysis and modeling, dynamic Earth processes, and global change risk and resilience. Graduates work in government, industry, and non-governmental organizations, addressing climate change, environmental hazards, natural resources, and their human dimensions.
