Chemistry
An undergraduate degree in Chemistry opens a gateway to many professions or further studies in graduate school or professional schools, like medical school.  A Chemistry degree provides a solid foundation for many professions including teaching, forensics, biotechnology, medicine, materials science and nanotechnology, chemical processing, electronics, agricultural and food science, oceanography, and environmental science.  At OSU, we provide a very flexible curriculum that can be tuned to your interests.  Check out the options we have for you!

Physics
The Department of Physics at Oregon State University offers degree programs leading to the Bachelor of Science Degree or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physics within the College of Science. Several options to the Physics B.S. degree are available, including Applied Physics, Biological Physics, Chemical Physics, Computational Physics, Geophysics, Mathematical Physics, Optical Physics, and Physics Education.  We also offer a minor in Physics.

Crop Science and Soil Science

German

In addition, a bachelor's degree in German is a great stepping stone to graduate or law school.

Nutrition
A balanced diet is one of the most powerful ways to get and stay healthy. It can even help manage diseases such as diabetes and reduce the risk of others, including heart disease and osteoporosis. In our program, you’ll take a holistic look at nutrition. You’ll explore the various nutrients in food and learn about the behaviors and social factors behind the dietary choices we make. You’ll get up close and personal with macro and micro nutrients, create healthy meals using local ingredients, learn how food can help prevent chronic diseases and have the chance to advise people across the lifespan who want to improve their overall health.

Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is the design, construction, and maintenance of public works, including roads, bridges, harbors, etc. At Oregon State University our programs in civil engineering prepare students to become working professional civil engineering and academic researchers who study civil engineering problems. Our civil engineering undergraduate program offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree where students receive general instruction in all disciplines, with the option for additional elective courses in desired areas.

Human Development and Family Sciences
Learn to empower individuals, families and communities to survive and thrive. Explore how individuals develop and become resilient over time — particularly within the contexts of family, school, work and society. Consider how difficult environments, such as living in poverty, can make lives and relationships more challenging. Few careers offer as many opportunities to directly and profoundly impact lives. With an HDFS degree, you’ll be ready for rewarding professional work or graduate study in fields such as education, HDFS, social work or public administration.

Environmental Engineering
Students can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering. The undergraduate curriculum is founded on a sound background in basic sciences (chemistry, physics, biology) and mathematics (calculus, differential equations), and strengthened with engineering science fundamentals (engineering mechanics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer). Upper division coursework in environmental engineering includes analysis and design of water and wastewater treatment systems, hazardous substance management and regulations, air pollution control technologies, and fate and transport of chemicals in the environment. All students participate in a capstone-design experience meant to foster interaction and communication between different engineering disciplines while applying environmental engineering principles to a real-world problem.

Geography and geospatial science provide approaches and tools to address pressing issues affecting communities, nations and the planet. At OSU students combine geography — the study of human and Earth system processes in space and time — and geospatial science — the collection, analysis, and presentation of spatial data — to analyze and interpret change in the environment and human society. The program has three areas of excellence: geospatial analysis and modeling, dynamic Earth processes, and global change risk and resilience. Graduates work in government, industry, and non-governmental organizations, addressing climate change, environmental hazards, natural resources, and their human dimensions. Picture yourself in an M.S. or Ph.D. program in Geography working with some of the most creative and renowned faculty in the country.

Zoology is an interdisciplinary biological sciences degree that focuses on all aspects of the biology of animals – from genes to ecosystems. In particular, the zoology coursework covers major areas of the life sciences including genetics, physiology, ecology, evolution and conservation biology. Through comprehensive content, critical thinking skills, professional development training and the opportunity for hands-on, experiential learning, you’ll be able to apply a wealth of knowledge to real-life situations once you enter the job market.s
