An INTO OSU Graduate Pathway program in Bioengineering will prepare you to enter your next term of a master’s degree program at Oregon State University. Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your next term of graduate study at Oregon State University. This transition from an INTO OSU program to a university degree program is called progression.

Bioengineering
Bioengineering is an interdisciplinary field that applies engineering principles and quantitative methods to the advancement of knowledge at the molecular, cellular, tissue, organ, and system levels, and to the development of new biologicals, materials, devices, and processes.

Oregon State University and the University of Oregon have partnered to offer joint Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Bioengineering, giving students the opportunity to work with faculty advisors at either campus. These new joint degree programs are expected to begin enrolling students starting in the fall of 2021. Oregon State University also offers a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Bioengineering.

International Year One General will prepare you to enter the second year of one of OSU's many undergraduate degree programs. Upon successful completion of International Year One and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next term of undergraduate study at Oregon State University. Economics
The department offers four different paths in the major and a minor:

• General Economics Option - Organizations want employees who can think, communicate orally, write, and solve problems, and who are comfortable with quantitative analysis.
• Managerial Economics Option - The Managerial Economics Option is an interdisciplinary program which allows students to use business classes toward the requirements of the economics degree.
• Law, Economics and Policy Option - The Law, Economics and Policy Option is an interdisciplinary program drawing from political science and philosophy courses as well as economics.
• Mathematical Economics Option - As the economics profession becomes increasingly mathematical, economics majors who plan to go to graduate school need a strong math background.

The Digital Communication Arts degree focuses on the storytelling capacity of media and prepares students to be successful navigators of ever-changing technology. Students in this major will learn alternative writing approaches, nonlinear storytelling, multiple formats, and how mediated storytelling affects the story itself. They investigate how our culture will change as people shift from multiple streams of communication to information flow on a single device, and how the structures of traditional media will adapt. Courses focus on several dimensions of media adoption and adaptation including access and inclusivity, personalization and privacy, science and business. New media requires continuous research and development. Practitioners will need to be prepared to be life-long learners.

The Department of Mathematics offers graduate programs leading to the M.A & M.S degrees in Mathematics with research emphasis possible in a variety of areas within pure and applied mathematics and in mathematics education. There are active faculty research groups in algebra and number theory, analysis, applied mathematics, geometry and topology, mathematical biology, mathematics education, numerical analysis, and probability.

Architectural Engineering
It takes a large team of skilled professionals to design and build a structure that works. Where a foreman manages a construction crew and an architect sets out to see their aesthetic vision come to life, an architectural engineer oversees the structural and mechanical systems that ensure a building can serve its intended purpose well.

Working closely with other specialists, architectural engineers call upon their multidisciplinary knowledge of science, engineering and mathematics to answer questions like: What’s the most efficient and hygienic way to ventilate a hospital? How should screens be positioned in a basketball stadium so players aren’t blinded by their glare? What factors help make a building carbon neutral?

As an architectural engineer, you’ll spend your days finding new ways to improve quality of life through the built environment. Whether designing the acoustics for a new performing arts center or engineering a coastal building that can withstand a Category 5 hurricane, you’ll have a direct hand in creating a safer, more sustainable, more beautiful world for generations to enjoy.

Crop Science and Soil Science
Want to get your hands dirty while making a difference? Our students work on solving the most complex agricultural and natural resource problems faced in Oregon, our nation and across the globe. Students who want to make a measurable difference in our communities are perfect candidates for a degree in either crop science or soil science. Graduates of our program, in demand across the United States, typically have several job offers by the time that they graduate.

At OSU Music, you'll find an exciting and creative community that challenges students to develop the skills to become successful musicians and professional educators. Our talented faculty are dedicated to high artistry and committed to excellence. Students test their skills and display their talents in a friendly and supportive environment. Entering students should have background in performance and be able to read music. Rudimentary keyboard skills and some knowledge of basic theory are useful. Upon completing the music program, you will earn either a B.A. or a B.S. in music.

German

German continues to be one of the leading languages of science, arts, philosophy and history. German is spoken by more than 200 million speakers worldwide, half of which speak it as their first language. After English, German is the second most used language on the internet. It is the official language of six European countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Belgium. In addition, a bachelor's degree in German is a great stepping stone to graduate or law school.

Our integrated curriculum, combining both the biological and physical sciences, offers training and research opportunities in the fields of molecular and computational toxicology, environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology and risk assessment in support of our state-of-the-art and internationally competitive research, outreach and education missions. Required core courses, advanced training in a specialized area, and interdisciplinary and team-based experiential learning and professional development opportunities together strengthen the student's training in the basic sciences and ensure a thorough knowledge of the applied science of toxicology.
