French is spoken by over 220 million persons worldwide, throughout Africa and Europe, as well as in the Americas and Asia, and, according to the Organisation Internationale de la Franchophonie, it is expected to reach between 700 million and l billion speakers by 2050. The sixth most widely spoken language in the world, it is the second most widely learned foreign language, one of six working languages of the United Nations, and one of three procedural languages of the European Union, alongside English and German. French-speaking countries contribute to approximately 1/5th of the global economy, and French remains one of the most important diplomatic languages in international agencies and organizations, such as NATO, the World Health Organization, Interpol, the African Union, the International Olympic Committee, the World Trade Organization, the Red Cross, Médecins sans Frontières, etc.

Psychology
The School of Psychological Science offers students a variety of educational avenues that provide the necessary tools for competency in, and appreciation for, psychology as a scientific discipline.

In addition to classes whose contents span the many sub disciplines of psychology, the School of Psychological Science at Oregon State values the intellectual contributions of its students and offers a number of opportunities for research experience.

History
How do the actions of our past affect the current world? Students immerse themselves in a robust program to better understand contemporary global issues by searching for patterns and relationships from our history. In addition, students will gain well-rounded intellectual development and essential career skills in critical thinking, writing, argumentation and documentation.

The mission of the Oregon State University graduate program in counseling is to prepare professional leaders who promote the social, psychological and physical well-being of individuals, families, communities and organizations. We believe that such professional leaders stand for social, economic and political justice and therefore must be prepared to be proactive educators, change agents and advocates in the face of injustice. Professional leaders are sensitive to life span developmental issues, demonstrate multicultural awareness, and recognize a global perspective as integral to the preparation of professional leaders.

Manufacturing Engineering
The MfgE program lays the foundation for being a successful engineer. Along with an introductory industrial and manufacturing engineering course, you'll take courses in basic engineering science, math and statistics, chemistry and physics, and oral and written communication. The junior & senior year of your OSU MfgE education focuses on strengthening and extending your discipline-specific knowledge and experience. Core coursework in MfgE includes manufacturing materials and processes, production engineering, production planning and control, computer aided design and manufacturing, design of mechanical devises and work systems, lean manufacturing systems engineering, thermal–fluid sciences, design on experiments, simulation, and statistical quality control.

Business Information Systems
The Business Information Systems curriculum will teach you to harness technology to help organizations achieve a competitive advantage in today's rapidly changing environment. You will gain a firm foundation in business administration and learn to architect, manage, develop and deploy information systems. Depending on your skills and interests you might become a business process analyst, IT project manager, data modeler, systems analyst, software quality tester, developer or database administrator, or you can choose from other technology-related business careers.

The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University provides a comprehensive, state-of-the-art education that prepares our students to be successful in engineering practice, advanced studies and research.

The master's degree provides advanced instruction beyond the undergraduate degree. It prepares students for careers in which a higher level of experience is required. The Master of Engineering is a course work-only degree with no required thesis or project report.

The Design and Human Environment program prepares students for college and university teaching, research and creative scholarship; careers in design, product development, product quality assurance or merchandising; historic/cultural research, collection management, and preservation of textile and architectural artifacts; and public policy.

Research is a central component of the DHE graduate program. Students have an opportunity to work on research and creative scholarships with internationally recognized faculty members who have published in the areas of historic costume, human behavior and the near environment, apparel design, interior design, fashion theory, consumer behavior, and housing.

Students who apply for admission to the program must submit GRE scores, a one-page statement of professional goals including a time schedule for completion of the degree as well as the program and area of concentration they wish to pursue, and three letters of reference. Students are encouraged to begin graduate study fall term. Completion of the degree in summers only is not possible because of course offerings.

Chemistry
An undergraduate degree in Chemistry opens a gateway to many professions or further studies in graduate school or professional schools, like medical school.  A Chemistry degree provides a solid foundation for many professions including teaching, forensics, biotechnology, medicine, materials science and nanotechnology, chemical processing, electronics, agricultural and food science, oceanography, and environmental science.  At OSU, we provide a very flexible curriculum that can be tuned to your interests.  Check out the options we have for you!
