The skills you need to succeed in the fast-paced, competitive world of advertising. The creativity to dream up buzz-worthy campaigns. You'll hone both as a Suffolk University advertising major.

You’ll learn advertising industry basics, including how to create ads and plan campaigns that appeal to industry brands and nonprofits' target markets. You’ll build ads from the ground up, writing copy and designing visual elements. Plus, you'll study the fundamentals of media planning and buying as they apply to television, radio, print, online, and social media advertising.

A whole world of experiential learning awaits just outside our classrooms, too. At Suffolk, it's easy to commute to internships at nearby advertising agencies, TV stations, and other top media employers in Boston.

You’ll follow a course of study endorsed by the American Chemical Society (ACS), which is highly respected in the field. You may also join Suffolk's award-winning ACS student chapter. Students involved in this co-curricular activity host speakers and enjoy participating in community service projects, for example volunteering at the nearby Museum of Science or the Boston Children’s Museum. Additionally, opportunities may be available to attend ACS regional and national meetings to learn about current research from experts in the field and even present your own research.

The Bachelor of Art in Studio Art is specifically designed to help you prepare for a creative career in the visual arts. This major offers an immersive studio experience integrated with academic programming that focuses on arts-related career pathways.

Today’s artists utilize cross-disciplinary skills in order to develop successful careers. In the studio art major, you will engage in a comprehensive studio experience in the center of Boston, while you pursue career opportunities in related fields. Suffolk University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

Our core program philosophy combines an extensive exposure to materials and techniques with critiques and discussions that focus on developing each student’s unique artistic voice. These clubs enjoy activities ranging from invited scientist lectures to community service projects. You might also volunteer at the nearby Museum of Science or at the Cambridge Science Festival. Additionally, opportunities are available to attend the national meetings of the ACS and ASBMB to learn about current research from experts in the field and even present your research in a national forum.
