Suffolk University's Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE) program is the first of its kind in the Boston area. An interdisciplinary major that draws from three academic departments, PPE will give you a foundation in policy, ethics, and economics. Suffolk's Theatre Department is student-centered. Global and Cultural Communication
Communication styles and methods vary greatly across cultures and around the globe. Listen closely and you'll get important social insights. In our versatile global and cultural communication major, you’ll study intercultural communication, media, rhetoric, and more.

You'll start by taking two foundation courses that focus on effective speaking, concise writing, and critical thinking. Then you’ll enter the experiential phase, where you’ll gain specific knowledge and hands-on experience in global and cultural communication.

Studying communication around the world and among various cultures will help you communicate with diverse audiences. In this major, you'll analyze cultural values, norms, and behaviors. You'll critique global media and the messages they send, analyzing global Hollywood, the images of Muslim women in transnational media, the information society, and global social movement, among other topics. And you'll study how rhetoric helps shape personal and cultural identities worldwide. You'll also explore emerging trends in global, ethical, legal, political communication, and social justice issues in the context of cultural theory.

Suffolk’s Wealth Management major combines courses in finance, investment analysis, risk management, and retirement, estate, and financial planning to help you build strong analytical and decision-making skills. Advertising
The skills you need to succeed in the fast-paced, competitive world of advertising. The creativity to dream up buzz-worthy campaigns. You'll hone both as a Suffolk University advertising major.

You’ll learn advertising industry basics, including how to create ads and plan campaigns that appeal to industry brands and nonprofits' target markets. You’ll build ads from the ground-up, writing copy and designing visual elements. Plus, you'll study the fundamentals of media planning and buying as they apply to television, radio, print, online, and social media advertising.

A whole world of experiential learning awaits just outside our classrooms, too. At Suffolk, it's easy to commute to internships at nearby advertising agencies, TV stations, and other top media employers in Boston.
