Industrial engineering (IE) is a field of study intended for individuals who are interested in formulating mathematical, statistical, and computer simulation models of complex systems in manufacturing, logistics, information, healthcare, transportation, financial, utilities, entertainment, and service. IEs connect big data sets and models to make engineering decisions for improving system performance and developing public policies. Unlike traditional disciplines in engineering, the scope of the industrial engineering field is very broad.

Graphic Arts with Illustration Concentration
The Graphic Arts degree offers students a sequence of rigorous courses that balance critical thinking and pragmatic experience, complemented by the enriched experience of the liberal arts environment of the University of South Florida.

Graphic artists develop the images that give voice to the world around us. Using their raw materials - the ability to think, draw, write, speak and design - students learn the skills to solve specific visual problems. The study of typography, design concepts, and digital technology develops an understanding of the tradition, practice, and process of graphic design.

This program guides students in building the imagination, aesthetic sensitivity, and powers of critical thought required to succeed as visual communicators. The curriculum emphasizes expertise in image development, typography, print and screen-based graphics, and interactive design. The program prepares students for the rigor of professional design practice through an internship program, courses in production, and portfolio development. Additionally, students design, organize and promote an exhibition of their final senior project.

The B.A. program is designed for students who are not currently planning to attend physics graduate school and/or who want to pursue parallel studies in other fields such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, business, pre-med, pre-law, and teacher education.

Africana Studies
Africana Studies is a liberal arts program offering a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies, a Minor in Africana Studies and a Certificate in Africana Literatures. This program provides all students with the opportunity to study the history, culture and lived experiences of people of African descent–on the African continent and throughout the world. Students also study the influence of Africa and people of African descent on the world at-large. The Africana Studies curriculum also explores the social construction of race and racism and encourages the development of critical thinking skills while also challenging students to explore new ideas, seek new connections and become actively engaged in the global community.

The discipline of History embraces a diverse world of ideas, peoples, and events. Our faculty seek to inform and to question, to provoke and to challenge our students to a higher level of understanding of the past. History at the University of South Florida (USF) offers the student an opportunity to explore civilizations from around the globe and from the ancient through contemporary eras. Students are encouraged to move beyond traditional memorization of material to a critical level of thinking, analysis, and synthesis. Accomplished History majors are attractive to all kinds of employers in any number of fields, as well as to graduate and professional schools. USF History alumni may be found in such diverse professions as law, medicine, business, government, foreign-service, politics, and education.

Physics
The B.A. program is designed for students who are not currently planning to attend physics graduate school and/or who want to pursue parallel studies in other fields such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, business, pre-med, pre-law, and teacher education.

Computer Engineering
The Computer Engineering program emphasizes the application of engineering principles to the design of computer hardware and software, and devotes additional time to computer architecture and advanced topics in hardware design, including extensive laboratory work. Students in this program also acquire a broad background in engineering topics through related coursework in the College.

An INTO USF Graduate Pathway program in Microbiology will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master's degree program at University of South Florida. Microbiology-M.S.
The graduate studies web page for the Department of Cell Biology, Microbiology and Molecular Biology (CMMB) at the University of South Florida. Our program mission is to prepare our students for professional careers in academia, the government or industry in the areas of Cell Biology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology.

Economics offers a clear and logical way of thinking about complicated issues such as unemployment, inflation, pollution, and crime. The Department of Economics offers broad course choices allowing students to tailor their programs to provide training for professional careers in business, teaching, government, and law. Students interested in majoring or minoring in economics should contact the undergraduate advisor in the Department of Economics for more information.

The M.S. in Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health  is offered by the Department of Child and Family Studies, College of Behavioral and Community Sciences. This major will prepare students for careers in public and non-profit organizations serving youth and their families. This major will prepare students to serve in roles such as director, supervisor, case manager, evaluator, and consultant within these organizations. Students have the opportunity to focus their coursework on individual areas of interest, including leadership, developmental disabilities, research and evaluation, and youth and behavioral health.
