The University of Charleston’s Digital Media Design Program is located on the Charleston campus and offers a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree. The program offers students opportunities to learn multiple programs and develop technology for Digital Media such as Web Development, Social Media, Animation and Motion, 3D prototypes, and App Design. Students will collaborate with current majors at UC in studio and classroom settings to develop tangible products. These courses will also take advantage of team teaching and professional mentors to further develop the student’s body of knowledge. The Digital Media Design program will help students to hone his or her skills in areas of interest such as Social Media Design, Web development, Product Design, and Animation to become a well-rounded UC student and future alum. The students will have an additional opportunity to serve as Social Media Ambassadors. The Ambassadors will apply what they learn in the Digital Media courses and develop a student-focused social media campaign to highlight student life at UC and the Digital Media Design program.

Students are encouraged to join UC’s DREAAM Studio and participate in developing digital workshops, think tanks, and other activities for UC and the community

This program helps you better understand the behavior and processes of organisms, and to learn to appreciate psychology as a discipline, a science, and a profession.

Bachelor of Science in Psychology
This track is if you plan to pursue an advanced degree in psychology or related fields, such as social work.

In large part, students in the BS and BA tracks complete the same sequences of courses to achieve their degrees. Students pursuing the BS track typically follow a curriculum that includes more math and science courses, while those seeking a BA track will take courses that focus on more traditional liberal arts courses.

The History-Political Science dual program produces graduates who lead our governmental and legal institutions. Students are prepared for a life of productive work in governmental agencies, in legal careers (after law school), and in higher education. They are prepared for a life of enlightened living through integration of the University's General Education Outcomes throughout the curriculum. They are prepared for a life of community involvement through an internship and a Senior Thesis tied to the internship.

History-Political Science Program Learning Outcomes
The graduate will:

Our traditional, four-year BSN program offers an exceptional nursing education to meet the diverse and changing health care needs of the community. We provide opportunities for skill development and outstanding clinical rotation experiences at several different healthcare facilities (including a level 1 trauma center, free standing women and children’s hospital, and more). Students, upon graduation will be prepared to take the NCLEX-RN Licensing exam to become a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).

The Chemistry/Biology - Dual Major provides you with a major in both biology and chemistry. The program consists of interdisciplinary areas of study in both Biology and Chemistry. You will also participate in undergraduate research encompassing several different areas.

This program is designed to educate you about the nature of chemistry, biology, and biochemistry, and to prepare you with the knowledge and skills to succeed in graduate studies or studies in the health professions. At the end of the program, you will be skilled in the use of scientific principles and methodology. This degree combination, along with undergraduate research experience, makes graduates exceptionally competitive for professional schools.

This specially-designed BS degree program allows interested students to obtain a dual-major in chemistry and biology within a four-year timeframe. BS degree holders possessing a strong knowledge base in both chemistry and biology are particularly competitive for professional schools.

From amateur sports to professional leagues, sports announcing to event planning, our Sport Business degree will prepare you for a wide range of career possibilities. The program consists of core business classes and a diverse selection of sport business classes to focus your career goals within the sports industry. The design of the program also encourages you to complete a second major or a minor in another field, enhancing your marketability in the job field.

The Secondary Special Education program allows you to obtain a multi-categorical Secondary Special Education certification with content endorsements in Mathematics, English, and Social Studies. Through this program, you will earn three of the five content endorsements supported by the WV Department of Education to meet the Highly Qualified teacher credential.Upon completion of this degree, you will be prepared to teach Secondary Special Education in Social Studies, Mathematics, and English classrooms. Note that this is a certification in Multi-categorical Special Education only, and it does not lead to certification in general Secondary Education.

Elementary Studies and Child Development is a non-certification area within our Education Department. After graduation, you’ll be prepared to work in non-teaching certification roles in the field of education with early-to-middle childhood aged children.

You can add options to your degree plan, such as a double major or minor to increase your marketability and focus on your career goals. Graduates of this program also have the option to return and earn a second degree in Elementary Education, providing them with a K-6 teacher certification.

To be more marketable in the teaching field, teacher candidates will often pursue more than one teacher certification, which allows them to teach in different areas. This double major provides you with two certifications: K-6 Elementary and K-6 Multi-categorical Special Education.

You’ll learn to reduce barriers to learning, provide appropriate supports for all learners, and acquire methods and strategies to accommodate the needs of diverse learners through adaptations, modifications, and proper assessment.

The primary mission/purpose of the Radiological Science Program is to provide challenging academic and clinical education for the development of the student as a compassionate, responsible, and multi competent radiology professional. The faculty is committed to:
