The mission of the Social Work Program at Nebraska Wesleyan University is to prepare students for entry into professional generalist social work practice with a commitment to promoting social justice and enhancing human well being for individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.

Admission into the Education Department and additional Education Departmental coursework is required. This subject endorsement is designed to prepare students for the teaching profession in Physical Education. With the addition of approximately 37 hours of education requirements, the student will be eligible for a Nebraska Teaching Certificate.

Students studying mathematics at Nebraska Wesleyan University have opportunities to engage themselves fully in their education by conducting research with faculty, teaching in the Math Tutoring Center, grading for courses, attending Math Club events, and working collaboratively with their peers.

Academically equivalent, both bachelor’s of art and bachelor’s of science will full prepare you for a career in Business Administration. If you choose to graduate with two majors, and one major is only offered as a B.A. or B.S., the second major should match the first degree.

Students majoring in Health and Fitness Studies may pursue interest in such areas as personal training, strength and conditioning training, worksite wellness, health promotions, fitness centers, and graduate school. Academically equivalent, both bachelor’s of art and bachelor’s of science will full prepare you for a career in economics. Economics is traditionally viewed as a liberal arts major and therefore students often choose the B.A. degree.

The Integrative Data Science major is a technology-oriented liberal arts major that brings together twenty-first century skills in computer programming, quantitative reasoning, collaboration, communication, design, and creative thinking. Students who pursue this major will develop the skills to collaborate with and lead interdisciplinary teams in many industries. By taking courses and pursuing internships in a range of disciplines, students will acquire flexible and integrative problem-solving skills for a rapidly-changing professional environment.

The Bachelor of Arts degree is designed for those students who want a solid physics education with a broad liberal arts background and will be pursuing further education or employment in fields other than physics or engineering.

This BFA program develops your skills as a director through experiences in the classroom and performance laboratory. In recent years, our BFA students have participated in an average of six productions a year.

Directing majors benefit from Nebraska Wesleyan's active production schedule and opportunities to direct shows can begin as early as the second semester of their sophomore year.

We also encourage directing majors to work closely with faculty as members of the production team and in stage management.

The Department of Modern Languages at Nebraska Wesleyan University prepares students to engage in a diverse and changing world through the study of languages, literatures and cultures. Recognizing that the study of language is central to the experience of a liberal arts education, the Department of Modern Languages serves the entire student body through the Archway Curriculum and its Major and Minor programs. At every level, students develop skills in listening, reading, speaking, and writing, equipping them to communicate with global competence.
