As the most popular Health and Human Performance major, nearly 50% of our Exercise Science students apply to graduate schools to study physical therapy, physician’s assistant, chiropractic or occupational therapy. An internship and a full-year of research and statistics are required.

Students interested in health-related professions such as physical therapy, occupational therapy and chiropractics may elect to major in Exercise Science. Students should consult with their advisor regarding pre professional requirements and suggested program of study.

Academically equivalent, both bachelor’s of art and bachelor’s of science will full prepare you for a career in economics. Economics is traditionally viewed as a liberal arts major and therefore students often choose the B.A. degree.

The Integrative Data Science major is a technology-oriented liberal arts major that brings together twenty-first century skills in computer programming, quantitative reasoning, collaboration, communication, design, and creative thinking. Students who pursue this major will develop the skills to collaborate with and lead interdisciplinary teams in many industries. By taking courses and pursuing internships in a range of disciplines, students will acquire flexible and integrative problem-solving skills for a rapidly-changing professional environment.

Academically equivalent, both bachelor’s of art and bachelor’s of science will fully prepare you for a career in accounting. If you choose to graduate with two majors, and one major is only offered as a B.A. or B.S., the second major should match the first degree.

The Athletic Training program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Athletic Training. Students who wish to pursue this degree must be formally admitted to the program. This is a selective admissions program with a competitive admission process. Acceptance into the program is based on the admission material completed and submitted to the Program Director on or before March 15. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) prepares students to analyze problems and develop strategic solutions for their workplace. The MBA focuses on real-world application of business knowledge and skills. The MBA is a 36-hour program that consists of three parts: (1) general knowledge (2) required core and (3) electives selected to meet your goals. In addition, students will participate in the mentoring program designed to enhance networking opportunities.

The Bachelor of Science degree is for those who wish to emphasize their study of chemistry.

Students interested in chemical engineering can participate in the Engineering Dual-Degree Program. Chemical Engineering students complete either a B.A. or B.S. degree in Chemistry at NWU and any remaining engineering program requirements at one of our participating schools of engineering.

For students interested in studying pre-health, a program of study emphasizing a strong background in chemistry is available for students planning a future in medicine.

This degree program is geared for the person who wishes to teach theatre arts in a secondary school where the focus of teaching responsibilities is primarily theatre classes. Different than a language arts education degree, this program can lead to a supplemental endorsement in secondary theatre education when combined with a primary area endorsement.

In addition to pursuing a well-rounded theatre curriculum, we encourage theatre education students to work closely with faculty as members in all areas of production to gain foundational knowledge and skills in those areas they'll teach and supervise as theatre educators: acting, directing, costuming, scenography, playwriting, theatre history and management.
