Theatre  - Emphasis
Theatre prepares the individual for work in the arts and entertainment industry across a broad spectrum of areas such as performance, technical production, design, and/or management. Individuals graduating in this emphasis area also work in many tangential industries such as hotel/restaurant management, event planning, and facilities management. At PSU, the theatre program, stresses a liberal arts approach that trains each student across the entire discipline in state-of-the-art production facilities. Participation, collaboration, and service are integral components of the program.

Collision Repair and Insurance Management - Emphasis
This program, the most popular of our options, is the perfect choice for students whose career plans are to work in automotive corporate or dealer positions. An emphasis area within our 4-year Automotive Technology program, the Service Management and Marketing program, focuses on the business aspect of the automotive and diesel & have equipment industry.

The Department of Technology and Workforce Learning offers a Master of Science degree with a major in Technology. Within the program, students may choose to have no emphasis or may select from nine emphasis areas. This program provides advanced instruction in technical, scientific, managerial and supervisory areas for those working in technical and management positions in business and industry. The program consists of 30-33 credit hours.

The Department of Accounting & Computer Information Systems offers baccalaureate and masters degree programs. Baccalaureate programs are offered in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. Minors are offered in Accounting, Computing, Fraud Examination, and Internal Auditing. A graduate program is available leading to the Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Accounting.

Computer Information Systems
The major in Computer Information Systems involves the study and analysis of the design of an information gathering and processing system using computers. The typical graduate finds employment in business, industry, or Government, as a programmer, programmer/analysts, information technology support specialists or various other positions related to operating and managing a modern information technology installation. Some choose to continue their study as a graduate student. With experience or further study, a graduate may advance to positions such as systems analyst, software engineer, project manager, database administrator, or manager of information systems.

Engineering Technology Programs are comprised of elements of the technological spectrum requiring scientific and engineering knowledge plus the operational methods and skills devoted to achieving practical purpose in support of product producing industries.

The Department of English and Modern Languages offers baccalaureate degrees and a master’s degree program. Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) programs are offered in English and in Modern Languages. A Bachelor of Science in Education and a master’s program are also offered in English. The department offers minors in English, English Teaching, Creative Writing, French, Professional Writing, and Spanish.

Spanish Language and Culture - Emphasis

Diesel and Heavy Equipment - Emphasis
This program provides students the opportunity to dive into three areas of diesel technology including: agricultural equipment, construction equipment and on highway truck systems. An emphasis area within our 4-year Automotive Technology program, the Managerial Management program, prepares students for a successful career in the automotive and diesel & heavy equipment manufacturing industry.

The Master of Science in Mathematics degree provides for advanced study in mathematics. The program prepares students to teach at the community college level, a career in mathematics, or an advanced degree in mathematics.

At the graduate level, Pitt State offers an 18-hour Graduate Certificate in Mathematics and a Master of Science (MS) degree. The 18-hour Graduate Certificate in Mathematics is designed to certify that the recipients have a knowledge base in graduate mathematics requisite in a variety of areas, including collegiate level teaching.

The School of Construction offers a comprehensive sequence of courses in Environmental and Safety Management. This broad-based program exposes students to several aspects of environmental and workplace safety.

Environmental and Safety Management program is on the list of national board-approved programs. A student earning an environmental and safety management degree from a board-approved institution is automatically qualified for the Associate Safety and Health Manager (ASHM) credential offered by the ISHM.
