Our M.A. in Counseling in Educational Settings prepares professional practitioners in School Counseling to become change agents in their school and community through a system perspective where all students are served. The M.S. in Emergency and Threat Response Management meets the pressing need to fill national, state/regional, local, and international leadership gaps that exist in emergency management and homeland security while understanding the growing necessity to build resilience within a whole community approach. Using a multi-hazard approach to the management of disasters and crises, the curriculum balances theory and practice. The curriculum covers operations management, planning and response, civil unrest, and terrorism with additional options for the study of disaster public health and executive leadership. The degree provides students with a global outlook, interpersonal skills and emergency management knowledge and skills. Students will be prepared for emergency management positions in emergency management and homeland security in government and industry.

The Area Studies major invites students to learn about one region of the world from multiple disciplinary perspectives and to gain deep knowledge of that region, skill in a world language, and cultural competence.  All Area Studies majors select one of the following regional concentrations:  Asian Studies, European Studies, or Latin American Studies.  Their coursework focuses on the culture, politics, economics, literature, language(s), and history of their chosen region.  Students also consider their area of concentration—Asia, Europe, or Latin America—within a global frame.  The Area Studies major should appeal to students who want to pursue careers in business, education, advocacy, counseling or social work, law enforcement, government, media and the arts, translation or interpretation, and other sectors.

Our program provides a rigorous liberal arts education that can carry you into a career in law, government, non-profit organizations, and graduate education. Political science includes a wide array of fields of study and methodological approaches in the study of politics and government of all countries and regions of the world.

Our Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering provides engineering professionals an opportunity to expand their skill sets in advanced topics. Specialization areas for this program include:

Rowan English majors explore how meaning is made in and through language. Our Master of Science (M.S.) in Pharmaceutical Sciences prepares you for a career in the highly interdisciplinary field of pharmaceutical sciences. The field of pharmaceutical science involves the integration of concepts from organic chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, and molecular biology for the design, and synthesis of drugs as well as for understanding the mechanism of drug action. As a practitioner in this field, you may work on the discovery and development of novel drugs, creating efficient use of existing drugs, and lowering the cost of therapy employing less expensive protocols for manufacturing drugs.

The Bachelor of Arts degree is designed for careers in environmental consulting, management, science writing, or science education. While also rigorous, the BA is a more flexible pathway with enough free electives to permit a second major in areas such as Education, Communications, Environmental & Sustainability Studies, or Geology.

BA students integrate the foundations of biology, chemistry, physics and other core STEM disciplines with their understanding of environmental issues. Environmental scientists are on the front line of documenting environment change and developing solutions to modern problems that impact everyone on Earth.

The Entrepreneurship Program's mission is to educate the Rowan University students to understand global economic, social, political, and environmental events, problems and opportunities as they impact emerging enterprises, non-profit entities and corporate extensions.
