Mathematical Statistics
This field of study emphasizes mathematical analysis, probability, and some practical statistics courses to prepare you for graduate school in statistics or a career in practical statistics. Through this program, which was developed in cooperation with the Department of Experimental Statistics, you may obtain a minor in experimental statistics by taking a proper choice of required electives and one additional class.

Refine your critical thinking skills, gain expertise in the area of product development, and learn how to market your final product to consumers in a global marketplace. The Bachelor of Arts is a broad-based liberal arts degree with an emphasis in the study of music. You can use this degree to explore music alongside other areas of study including business, engineering, arts administration, digital media, and jazz.

Learn about the properties and composition of matter and the interactions and alterations of substances. Chemistry is at the core of most scientific disciplines, including the study of polymers, biotechnology, pollution control, and energy. There are nine available concentrations, which will allow you to narrow your focus to the career track that works best for you or help you prepare for graduate study. 

Environmental Chemistry
Recommended for students pursuing careers as a chemical professional or for entrance to graduate study in chemistry, this area focuses on the study of the sources, reactions, transport, effects, and fates of chemical species in the air, soil, and water environments.

Accounting defines transactions so they can be used to describe business activities. Learning the language allows you to communicate and understand the financial operations of any and all types of organizations. You also have the opportunity to earn a graduate degree while completing the required hours to be eligible for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.

Study ways to improve crops and discover new crossbreeds of plants, and learn the latest approaches to the cultivation, marketing, and processing of ornamental plants, fruits, and vegetables. Topics include soil science and conservation, ornamentals and grasses, urban landscape management, sustainable horticulture, and much more.

This major emphasizes a hands-on approach to understanding human behavior and offers exceptional preparation for graduate study in psychology or medical school. You can develop the skills you need in areas such as biological, clinical, cognitive, and school psychology. The department also has an extremely active honors program through which you can work with faculty mentors on meaningful research.

In this program, you can expect to gain a wide-ranging view of world issues while focusing on a particular geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. In international studies, you will also have opportunities to participate in study abroad programs and develop in-depth knowledge of the languages and cultures of your chosen area.

• Africa: The concentration in Africa focuses on the politics, history, folklore, and culture of Sub Saharan Africa. This region has close cultural ties with the United States, and supplies a number of important resources which are shipped through the Port of New Orleans including cocoa, coffee, and rubber. Dramatic economic conditions in some parts of Africa highlight the urgent need for sustainable economic development.
