The Entrepreneurship major is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively establish and turn a profit for a business. It is designed to teach, coach, and inspire students to start a business, be a productive member of an entrepreneurial business, and become an effective manager in a growing business. Through a focus on business management, development, and funding strategies, students can increase their understanding of business practices and startups in this program.

The Bachelor of Music prepares you for a career as a professional musician or composer. It also serves as the gateway to graduate-level studies in music.

If you’re a natural-born “mathlete,” a degree in mathematics can lead to a career in many exciting areas, including actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, and secondary education. You can also pursue a graduate degree or professional degree in fields such as law and business.

Mathematical Statistics
This field of study emphasizes mathematical analysis, probability, and some practical statistics courses to prepare you for graduate school in statistics or a career in practical statistics. Through this program, which was developed in cooperation with the Department of Experimental Statistics, you may obtain a minor in experimental statistics by taking a proper choice of required electives and one additional class.

If you want to work behind the scenes (and sometimes in front of the camera) in the sport industry, then this is the major for you. Sport administration is designed to teach you the fundamentals behind managing the complex and ever-changing sport industry. You will get real-world experience and may one day become commissioner of the NCAA.

Management will help you explore the many facets of organizational behavior, industrial and labor relations, as well as an appreciation and understanding of global management practices, among others. You can pursue these areas further through the human resource management concentration, international management concentration, or strategic leadership concentration.

In this program, you can expect to gain a wide-ranging view of world issues while focusing on a particular geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. In international studies, you will also have opportunities to participate in study abroad programs and develop in-depth knowledge of the languages and cultures of your chosen area.

• Global Studies: The concentration in global studies is a very broad concentration covering any topics which fall across multiple regions of the world. Much of international relations, global climate concerns, third world development, world population and globalization fit under this concentration.

Kinesiology is the study of human movement and the practice of helping people understand how their body performs, how to maintain proper physical health, and how to maximize their body's potential.

• Human Movement Science: This concentration prepares you to meet the prerequisites needed to attend medical, dental, or other allied health graduate programs.

Whether it’s discovering a new particle or blasting a rocket into space, physics is at the root of everything. Here you will learn about energy and matter, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, the birth of the universe, and Einstein’s special theory of relativity. Our program will prepare you for graduate school in physics, leading to careers as a college professor, as a scientist at a government agency (like NASA), or in high-tech industry.

Physics and a Second Discipline
This area of focus is for students who wish to combine the study of physics with another subject, either a minor or a double-major, in order to tailor their degree to their interests and career goals.

Learn about the properties and composition of matter and the interactions and alterations of substances. Chemistry is at the core of most scientific disciplines, including the study of polymers, biotechnology, pollution control, and energy. There are nine available concentrations, which will allow you to narrow your focus to the career track that works best for you or help you prepare for graduate study. 

Pre-professional Chemistry
This area of focus is designed primarily for students who will apply for graduate education in another profession, such as medicine, dentistry, or veterinary medicine.

One of only 15 U.S. programs recognized by the French government as a Centre d’Excellence, our Department of French Studies can help you develop a command of the language, and introduce you to French-speaking cultures around the world, including Louisiana’s own.

Secondary Education: If you want to teach French, you can do that, too. The available secondary education concentration allows you to pursue certification to teach while you are enjoying the courses you love.
