Classical Civilization
The Classical Civilization concentration allows you to explore the culture and history of ancient Greece and Rome. In this concentration, you will learn to read Latin or Greek and can continue to pursue advanced language work and/or interests in the classical world. The curriculum includes courses in art history, classical studies (in translation), history, linguistics, philosophy, political science, and religious studies.

This major emphasizes a hands-on approach to understanding human behavior and offers exceptional preparation for graduate study in psychology or medical school. You can develop the skills you need in areas such as biological, clinical, cognitive, and school psychology. The department also has an extremely active honors program through which you can work with faculty mentors on meaningful research.

This major prepares you to teach music in elementary, middle, and high schools. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that fulfills requirements for students to earn a K-12 Louisiana teaching license upon graduation.

Courses in music theory, music history, conducting, jazz, piano, and technology complement this developing musical artistry forming a foundation that melds with professional education course work in teaching and psychology. Through collaborations with urban and suburban schools in the Baton Rouge and surrounding area, students participate in varied experiences that provide perspective and a basis from which to make career choices.

Kinesiology is the study of human movement and the practice of helping people understand how their body performs, how to maintain proper physical health, and how to maximize their body's potential.

Arts Administration
In this program, you will learn about the daily operations of artistic venues like museums, theatres, and performance houses. Arts administrators can be responsible for anything from budgeting and fundraising to marketing and public relations for arts and cultural organizations.

The Bachelor of Music prepares you for a career as a professional musician or composer. It also serves as the gateway to graduate-level studies in music.

LSU has the only program in Louisiana that will prepare you for a career in international business. The international trade and finance degree is an economics degree with a concentration in international business. Want to work for an international company? Consider also minoring in a foreign language.

Empirical Economic Analysis
Learn the skills you need to analyze business and economic data to solve real-world problems.

Biological Engineering is a diverse field that provides opportunities for students to pursue a wide variety of occupations in industries, including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, prosthetics, food processing, environmental consulting, and precision farming. In our degree students are constantly tasked with adapting to new and dynamic situations. Focus areas include biomedical, bioenvironmental, bioprocessing, or biomechanical. Many graduates go on to medical school or graduate school, but others will work in consulting, government agencies, biomedical firms, or even technical sales.

You will feel right at home as a geography major. Take advantage of the special emphases in Latin American and East Asian geography. Get heavily involved in hands-on research projects and the student-run Geography and Anthropology Society.
