Wetland Science: Choose this concentration if you would like to specialize in wetlands, which are valued as wildlife and fish habitat, for maintaining water quality, and for economic benefits.

Economics is the study of how people choose to use resources. These can include the time and talent people have available; the land, buildings, equipment, and other tools on hand; and the knowledge of how to combine them to create useful products and services. Economics will provide you with analytical skills and a breadth of economic understanding that prepares you for a career in business or government or for further study in economics, law, or public policy.

The screen arts program gives you the opportunity to study the history, theory, and practice of film and media, approaching the field as both an industry and an art. With classes ranging from critical analysis to hands-on film production, you will be prepared to enter the growing film industry in Louisiana or to go on for further graduate work in film school and master’s or PhD programs.

From companion animals to livestock, study all aspects of the animal industries, including production, processing, and nutrition, as well as care of companion animals and preparation for veterinary school. Forest Resource Management: Prepare for the diverse challenges of managing forested landscapes for various sustainable uses. This area of concentration is specifically designed to assist you in becoming a Certified Forester.

The Bachelor of Music prepares you for a career as a professional musician or composer. It also serves as the gateway to graduate-level studies in music.

This major prepares you to teach music in elementary, middle, and high schools. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that fulfills requirements for students to earn a K-12 Louisiana teaching license upon graduation.

Fisheries and Aquaculture: Learn to manage, conserve, and enhance populations of aquatic organisms in the wild or through the use of aquaculture. Commercial aspects of fisheries and aquaculture will also be explored.

It also examines how identities are created, maintained, or changed in a global world.
