At Roosevelt economics goes beyond the curriculum that is currently being taught at universities around the world. It presents and challenges students with radically different economic perspectives and alternative schools of thought. Roosevelt is one of the few universities in the United States where students can study economics from green, institutionalist, Post Keynesian, anarchistic, rhetorical, Marxist and other points of view, while gaining technical proficiency in conventional Neoclassical and Keynesian methods. Our faculty are drawn to the study of economics by a commitment to social justice. Economics students are prepared to be socially conscious citizens and leaders in their professions, whether in business, public service, research, teaching or other careers.

The BS degree in Biochemistry provides thorough training in the fundamental principles and experimental techniques of chemistry and biology as they apply to biological systems, and emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of these sciences. This program prepares students for a wide variety of careers, including biological or biochemical research, health sciences, government, industry, or with additional coursework in the College of Education, secondary science teaching. For students seeking careers in industry, the biochemistry major may lead to work in interdisciplinary sciences such as biotechnology, forensics, environmental science, or pharmacology, and it is well suited to the needs of pre-professional students, including pre-medical students and pre-pharmacy students.

You’ll develop the skills needed to foster academic growth and socio-emotional well-being in children and adolescents. Political science is the study of the collective decisions that shape our common fate. Political scientists study topics including the outcome of elections, the acquisition and exercise of power, the causes of war, the design and function of electoral systems; the history of political thought; the adoption and implementation of public policies; the comparative efficacy of political systems around the world; the operation of legal systems, and many more.
