The context in which we lead our professional and personal lives is steadily becoming more multicultural and global in scope, demanding new levels of international knowledge - knowledge beyond just geography, a few phrases of a foreign language, and a guide book.

The study of history provides students with important skills – including critical reading, writing and thinking – that will make them informed citizens ready to work for the common good. The study of history not only prepares students to participate in civic life, but is also a stepping stone to careers in many diverse fields.

580 million people worldwide speak Spanish and it is the official language in 21 countries. Spanish is the second-largest native language in the world, the second language used for international communication, and the third most used language on the Internet. Having a Spanish credential will make you more attractive to employers in many fields across the U.S. and around the globe.

Students often know they want to study something related to science, but may be unsure of exactly which major is the best fit. As a Discover Science student you will be able to explore the physical and life science majors in the largest academic unit at UD.

As a student in the Interdisciplinary Educational Studies program at the University of Dayton, you’ll have the flexibility to chart your own path to success and design a program to meet your diverse professional goals.

Candidates must select concentration coursework from both the School of Education and Health Sciences and at least one department outside SEHS.

As a UD Foreign Language Education major, you'll learn the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the needs of our changing and global world — and prepare others to do the same. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared to teach French, German or Spanish to students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12. 

As a member of the Discover Engineering Technology program at the University of Dayton, you will be able to explore the academic programs in the School of Engineering before finalizing your major.

You'll be enrolled in a specially designed seminar course that offers an introduction to the division, its faculty, curriculum, opportunities for graduates, and the various policies and procedures necessary for the successful student to follow. This seminar provides information on cooperative education and internship opportunities, as well as extracurricular options. The classes are small, and the attention is as individual as needed. With the help of this seminar, along with the assistance of your knowledgeable adviser, you will discover the area of engineering technology that's right for you.

Once you decide on your engineering academic program, students admitted as Discover Engineering Technology are guaranteed to move into any engineering technology program and students admitted as Discover Engineering are guaranteed to move into any engineering program. If you'd like to move between the engineering technology and engineering programs, you can coordinate with your Student Success adviser on the process to do so! 

Our major combines a biomedical science-focused curriculum, a local or international medical experience, and a self-designed plan of study to include a minor or other courses of interest that prepare our graduates for entry into professional schools.

Owing to the fact that UD conducts about $18 million in bioscience and bioengineering research, you’ll have many chances to get hands-on with your degree. Opportunities include university biochemical, biomechanical, biomaterials and bioenergy labs.

Specialized tracks available to UD bioengineering graduate students include:

• Bioprocess engineering

Receive comprehensive instruction in musicianship and pedagogy, so you can share your love of music with others by learning to teach instrumental, choral and classroom music to students in grades PK-12. You will learn contemporary methodology to teach a culturally responsive curriculum in any educational setting.
