This program is designed to prepare engineers and aspiring engineers for leadership roles in engineering activities in industry, government, business and the military. Students with a degree in applied mathematical economics learn to utilize mathematical modeling to analyze problems, which prepares them to pursue a variety of professions in business and economics. Our graduates have used their degree to launch careers in cost analysis, risk analysis, actuarial consulting, operations research, data science, quality control, investment consulting, insurance and technology consulting

The study of history provides students with important skills – including critical reading, writing and thinking – that will make them informed citizens ready to work for the common good. The study of history not only prepares students to participate in civic life, but is also a stepping stone to careers in many diverse fields.

The context in which we lead our professional and personal lives is steadily becoming more multicultural and global in scope, demanding new levels of international knowledge - knowledge beyond just geography, a few phrases of a foreign language, and a guide book.

The science facilities at University of Dayton’s Science Center complex include the latest equipment. As a graduate student, you’ll gain firsthand experience with nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers, high pressure liquid chromatography equipment and more. Students may choose to pursue projects in all major chemistry sub-disciplines.

As a UD entrepreneurship major, you'll learn to launch and sustain a business. But this program does not simply talk theory; it involves real decisions and action. During the Sophomore Experience, you will create and run a microbusiness with $5,000 in start-up capital.

In addition to our rigorous academic program, students are provided with many opportunities to work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as developing improved flame retardants, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments. Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education.

We foster the understanding of language and literature from rhetorical, creative, critical, historical, comparative and global perspectives. With our diverse array of tracks, coupled with our faculty's broad range of expertise, our students can learn anything from British literature, linguistics, grant writing or creative writing.

Our master’s degree program prepares you for professional success. Many students go on to successfully complete a Ph.D., and others refine their skills for professional development and advancement. In the past few years, graduate students have presented at 30+ national, regional and state conferences.
