The UD School of Education and Health Sciences offers 11 undergraduate degree programs and 11 undergraduate certificate, licensure & endorsement programs to help prepare students for careers in education, health, wellness, sport or physical activity. UD SEHS also offers 24 graduate degree programs and 22 graduate certificate, licensure & endorsement programs. Receive comprehensive instruction in musicianship and pedagogy, so you can share your love of music with others by learning to teach instrumental, choral and classroom music to students in grades PK-12. You will learn contemporary methodology to teach a culturally responsive curriculum in any educational setting.

Economics is a social science and as such an important component of the liberal arts curriculum. It provides a useful background for students interested in careers in public policy, business or finance.

Students who study economics investigate the allocation of scarce resources. The foundation of economics is based on theories of how people, institutions and governments make choices and interact. Some of the topics that a student of economics studies are: pricing, the effects of taxing and regulation by the government, inflation, income distribution and international trade.

Because Economics straddles the worlds of business and social science, the demand for economics majors is strong in both the public and private sector. Economics is also great preparation for graduate school in fields as diverse as business, law, and public policy.

The graduate program in computer science offers a comprehensive approach to the theory and application of computer science. Graduates of the program will have:

• A thorough grounding in the theory of computing science and the ability to apply that knowledge to a variety of problem areas,
• Been exposed to a variety of analytical methods and will demonstrate a basic understanding of those methods, and
• Been exposed to a wide breadth of computer science information by having studied several of the dominant sub-disciplines of computer science.

The program is individualized to meet each student's needs and provides a firm foundation for continuing on to the doctorate or a professional career. The program accommodates both full-time and part-time students.

As an electrical engineering graduate student, you’ll work with top scholars and industry leaders and develop your area of expertise. Your work is supported with faculty expertise and seven computer labs with industry-specific software along with ten specialized laboratories.

• Signal and image processing
• Control theory and systems

The science facilities at University of Dayton’s Science Center complex include the latest equipment. As a graduate student, you’ll gain firsthand experience with nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers, high pressure liquid chromatography equipment and more. Students may choose to pursue projects in all major chemistry sub-disciplines.

The criminal justice studies major is individualized and students choose the justice path that is right for them. The program is an excellent academic home for students interested in law and legal careers, intelligence, forensic psychology, federal law enforcement, probation and work with at-risk populations in the community.
