The STEM-designated, MS in Construction Engineering and Management degree is designed to meet the growing demand in the field for highly skilled construction engineering managers. Students learn about a wide range of topics, including construction regulations, quality control, and environmental sustainability.

The Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences, Major in Integrated Health Studies is a collaborative program of the College of Applied Health Sciences and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The program will be jointly supported by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Departments of Biological Sciences and Psychology and administered by the Department of Biological Sciences.

The Major in Integrated Health Studies provides students the opportunity to explore the complexity of human health, from the level of the gene to society, by providing a diverse, interdisciplinary curriculum that includes core content spanning the life sciences, natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. As a more holistic perspective of health has evolved, the training of health professionals has evolved as well. Students will graduate with a broad understanding of human structure and function in health and disease across the lifespan; a broad understanding of how human health and disease are impacted by culture, the environment, society, and personal behavior; and an appreciation for health issues that are unique to the urban environment and to the global society. Upon completion of the bachelor’s degree, graduates will be competitive for admission into professional and graduate health-related programs or entry into health-related careers.

Our curriculum is flexible and the program welcomes applicants with accounting, business, and non-business degrees. We take into account the undergraduate courses you’ve already taken, allowing you to obtain your degree in 8–16 courses (32–64 credit hours) depending on your background. 

A Bachelor of Science in Marketing from UIC Business prepares students for careers in advertising and social media marketing, marketing research, product management, retailing and sales leadership. Our classes, which are led by faculty with experience from both research and industry, provide both a theoretical foundation for understanding a range of marketing topics, as well as hands-on experiences to allow you to put your skills into practice.

The human-centered computing concentration prepares students to pursue areas such as user-interface design and development and computer graphics and animation. Applications of these skills might include video games, movie special effects, and visualization in science, engineering, and medicine. In addition to the fundamental areas of computer science—programming, data structures, discrete mathematics, algorithms, formal languages, computer architecture, and operating systems—the concentration educates students in user-interface design, computer graphics, visual media, and natural language processing.

Bioinformatics develops methods and computing tools for understanding biological data. As an integrative field of science, bioinformatics combines computer science, statistics, mathematics and engineering to analyze and interpret biological data.

The Department of Anthropology at UIC is committed to cultivating responsible, global citizens. Programs are available in Anthropology and Geography, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Students majoring in Anthropology are given the opportunity to pursue interests with our faculty all over the world and to work closer with the curators, collections, and facilities at The Field Museum in Chicago. Courses and training are offered in archaeology, biological anthropology and sociocultural anthropology.

The UIC Business Master of Science in Management Information Systems Program prepares you to use technology to improve business practices.

In today’s economy, managing information is critical to the success of a business. Supply-chain management, mass customization, business intelligence and data mining are all key drivers of a successful business, and all require the effective management of large volumes of information using technology systems. Taught by research faculty, the program is designed to train project managers, technology leaders and future CIOs.

The software engineering concentration emphasizes the knowledge and skills needed to begin a professional practice in software engineering. In addition to the fundamental areas of computer science, including programming, data structures, discrete mathematics, algorithms, formal languages, computer architecture, and operating systems, students study key topics such as software cost estimation, large-scale software development, and risk management.
