What do you want to learn? The General Business curriculum includes the core business subjects, an internship or study abroad opportunity, and a minor from another discipline outside the business school. This gives you the flexibility to define yourself according to your vision of the future, while grounding you in global business knowledge usable in any future you choose.

The B.A. in Southern studies involves the interdisciplinary study of the American South. The program brings together faculty members from the humanities and social sciences to explore the importance of region as a context of human experience. Through a variety of disciplines, including African American studies, anthropology, art, history, literature, music, politics, religion, and sociology, Southern studies seeks to investigate the challenges and contributions of the region, in order to situate the South in the fabric of American life. The undergraduate program teaches students both knowledge about the people, past and present, of the American South and a variety of techniques about studying those people.

The M.A. in philosophy prepares a student to go on to a Ph.D. program, a professional school, theology graduate work, or simply offers an opportunity to deepen understanding of the issues, methods, and history of philosophy.

Sociology is the systematic study of human social life. The B.A. in sociology provides students with the basic tools of sociological analysis including social research methods (both quantitative and qualitative) and theory. You’ll receive instruction in principles, finance, appraisal, law, land use controls, and investment analysis. You’ll learn about brokerage, lending, corporate positions, and government agencies. On graduation, you will be prepared for examinations for state real estate broker and salesperson licenses.

Students who pursue the major in African American studies will get a broad-based understanding of research in a variety of academic disciplines, with a particular focus on African and African American topics.
