Emphasis - Marketing Analytics
The emphasis in marketing analytics focuses on the way data can help make marketing decisions and assess marketing effectiveness. The emphasis includes hands-on experience using industry-standard software for analytical tasks, including preparing and managing data sets, exploring consumer and market data, and predictive modeling.

By enrolling in the anthropology program at the University of Mississippi, you'll study society and culture of the past and present. The four-field discipline includes archaeology, bioanthropology, cultural anthropology, and linguistic anthropology.

Students learn the scientific approach to the study of human and animal behavior, and can take courses in a variety of subfields, such as social, cognitive, personality, abnormal, developmental, and behavioral neuroscience. Students also learn the research process: experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Improve the health and quality of life while gaining an understanding of the business and administration of sport and recreation

The Bachelor of Arts in Sport and Recreation Administration degree program prepares students for leadership, direct service, and even supervisory roles in sport franchises, sport tourism, community recreation agencies, or college recreation departments.

The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering (B.S.B.E.) degree program will prepare engineering students at the University of Mississippi to capably apply advanced mathematics, science, and engineering to solve the problems at the interface of engineering, biology, and medicine. Moreover, the curriculum will prepare graduates with the ability to make measurements on and interpret data from living systems, addressing the problems associated with the interaction between living and nonliving materials and systems.

The graduates of the program will be able to pursue (i) employment in biomedical or related industries (ii) graduate studies in biomedical engineering or related disciplines, and (iii) pursue professional careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, or patent law.

You can choose one of three academic tracks in our biomedical engineering program:

• Biomolecular engineering – brings together the study of molecular biology, biophysics and chemical engineering to modify or create new molecules. This can lead you to a job working on innovative drugs and medical processes, as well as new foods and fuels.
• Biomedical systems – provides you with an understanding of medical instrumentation, devices and biomechanics. You’ll also learn about signal analysis, using technology and other tools to better understand a person’s health.
• Bioinformatics – applies big data analytics to genome sequencing, medical imaging and large data management. This degree can start you down the path for a career in computational medical research, software development or database management.

Emphasis - Bioinformatics
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field investigating methods/ software tools to understand better biological data. Bioinformatics combines computer science, statistics, mathematics, and engineering to analyze and interpret biological data. Bioinformatics is both an umbrella term for the body of biological studies that uses computer programming and simulation as part of its methodology, and specific analysis "pipelines" that are repeatedly used, particularly in the field of genomics.
