The law studies program is designed for the student who wishes to pursue a career as a paralegal or legal assistant.

The B.A. degree in physics is suggested for students wishing to teach physics in high school or to enter graduate or professional schools, such as medical school or law school. The department also offers a special B.A. curriculum for pre-medical students, which includes physics courses that are especially useful for medical students. It is recommended that students interested in teaching high school physics obtain a B.A. physics degree and a secondary education certification.

Curricula of the School of Business Administration are designed both for those who plan to operate their own businesses and for those who plan to occupy responsible positions in business organizations. This unique program is designed to educate students as information system professionals. Students are provided with knowledge involving information systems technology, information concepts and processes, and organizational functions and management.

In our MIS program, you will gain the skills to create desktop and mobile applications, web pages, and databases with state-of-the-art technology. Our alumni work for industry-leading companies such as FedEx, Microsoft, and Yahoo!

Students who complete the program in hospitality management choose among many of the job settings in the growing hospitality industry, such as restaurants and food-service operations, hotels and other lodging facilities, event companies, resorts, casinos, entertainment centers, convention centers, travel firms, and visitor bureaus.

The General Engineering program at University of Mississippi is heavily rooted in mathematics, science, and core engineering coursework, but offers a breadth and flexibility not offered by other programs in order to enable students to tailor a program of study to suit their interests and career goals.

History majors at the University of Mississippi take a range of courses across American and European history as well as history of other regions. They take at least one advanced research course where they utilize primary resources to address questions of historical importance.

By enrolling in the anthropology program at the University of Mississippi, you'll study society and culture of the past and present. The four-field discipline includes archaeology, bioanthropology, cultural anthropology, and linguistic anthropology.

Emphasis - Music Performance
The M.M. degree with an emphasis in performance is designed to prepare a student to become a professional musician (performing as a pianist, woodwind, brass, string, or percussion instrumentalist, or vocalist) and/or prepares him/her for further graduate study or professional training. The performance emphasis can be completed with a concentration (option) in either piano, vocal, or instrumental.

The study of Arabic provides students with the practical instruction in a second language required to function in a nonnative environment, as well as the cultural awareness and intellectual strategies necessary to successfully navigate a foreign landscape.

Linguistics majors at the University of Mississippi learn the layers of intertwined systems of language (sound, meaning, organization and context) and study phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. They explore the relationship between language and social factors such as region, ethnicity, gender, and identity; and how language is acquired and changes over time.

The study of linguistics, often referred to as the "science of language," provides students with an understanding of the sound systems, words, and sentence structures of language, both individually and comparatively.
