The new Master of Science in Computer Science degree program is built on a 96-year foundation of engineering and computer science at University of the Pacific. The one to two-year program, taught at the iconic ivy-covered campus in Stockton, California, teaches students advanced techniques and best practices of professional research and establishes the intellectual foundations for achieving excellence in the field of computer science. Music Industry Studies degree at University of the Pacific is the first collegiate program of its kind in the region. It merges practice with theory along with intensive, hands-on training and internships to give students the knowledge and resilience to succeed in the fast-paced environment of the music industry. It was designed to prepare you for success in a variety of 21st century music careers. The Department of Psychology is a large, thriving community where students are exposed to several fascinating areas of study including behavioral, biological, clinical, cognitive, developmental and social psychology. Pacific's Master of Science in Finance program offers the perfect blend of finance theory and application. With a $3.5 million student-run investment fund, our STEM-designated program offers students the unique opportunity to manage a large equity portfolio using state of the art tools of the industry. In just one year, our program prepares students for the CFA certification and is offered in-person and online simultaneously using a hyflex modality providing flexibility for working professionals.

Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) in Fall 2021. Open to students with a bachelor’s degree in any major, this unique 9-month plus internship program allows entry-level students to gain experience in the field using the vast industry network of the Eberhardt Career Management Center. The hybrid program blends online learning with on-campus evening classes at Pacific’s Stockton campus. With a curriculum built to align with the International Institute of Business Analytics standards, students will gain the essential skills and knowledge required to be successful leaders of data-informed business strategy.

The applied mathematics major is designed for students who are interested in applying their mathematics skills to problems in the real world, for example, in engineering. Our students graduate with a passion for mathematics and learning and are able to apply the problem-solving skills learned in the classroom to the world around them. Our mathematics program offers opportunities for you to refine your knowledge and use of mathematics content, communication and teamwork, mathematical reasoning and problem solving, and technology. Courses are intended to give you a competitive edge when you enter the job market.

Students who choose to major in mathematics are provided opportunities to develop strong problem solving skills that use quantitative methods and appropriate technology. They understand the strengths, limitations and wide applicability of mathematical modeling in a variety of disciplines. Students develop an appreciation for the discipline and esthetics of mathematics, effectiveness in problem solving, and an appropriate understanding of theory. Graduates who major in mathematics are prepared for the many careers in which mathematics plays an important role, for further study in Mathematics at the graduate level, or for careers in teaching mathematics.

Whether you're interested in social work, criminal justice, public policy, youth mentoring, or community development, we have a place and a pathway for you.

At Pacific, you will have the opportunity to learn through experience by interning or working with professional sociologists. Actuaries analyze data and assess risk. They are most often associated with the insurance industry, but actuaries work in many kinds of businesses. The profession is consistently one of the most secure and highest-paying available, even during tough economic times.

Pacific offers the only actuarial science program in northern California. In it, you have the opportunity to develop the skills expected of entry-level actuaries, equipping you with the tools to help companies and businesses better anticipate and manage risk.

Electrical engineering is a broad field that encompasses a wide range of topics such as communication systems, automatic control systems, energy conversion, digital signal processing and integrated circuits. Students pursuing an electrical engineering degree are taught fundamentals that allow them to understand their area of concentration as well as grasp general engineering concepts. This broad understanding of engineering allows electrical engineers to communicate their ideas to others in their field and adapt to rapidly changing technology.

Throughout their time at Pacific, students work with a faculty mentor to develop a curriculum plan based around their interests and skills. Whether it’s renewable energy systems or motor control, electrical engineering electives provide avenues for exploration within this broad, dynamic field.

The Master of Science in Engineering Science (MSES) program is designed to strengthen students' technical, analytical, and professional breadth and depth. All students receiving an MSES degree will complete a set of core courses that covers the broader subjects of research and analysis. Students are allowed admission to the MSES program after completing their bachelor's degree. Traditional MSES students may qualify for a graduate assistantship, which provides tuition and a living stipend.
