The Master of Science in Engineering Science (MSES) program is designed to strengthen students' technical, analytical, and professional breadth and depth. All students receiving an MSES degree will complete a set of core courses that covers the broader subjects of research and analysis. Students are allowed admission to the MSES program after completing their bachelor's degree. Traditional MSES students may qualify for a graduate assistantship, which provides tuition and a living stipend.

The field of Civil Engineering has long been known for its breadth and ability to adapt to the new technological needs of society, while the modern responsibility of the field is to manage the natural and built environment.The University of the Pacific prepares students for careers with public agencies or private industry and firms involved in planning, design, research and development, or regulation.

An appreciation of the principles of chemistry is fundamental to understanding our daily lives and the future of our planet. Chemistry also serves as a foundation not only to industrial careers, but also to careers in the health sciences. The emphasis in all chemistry classes is to provide a thorough understanding of basic chemical concepts and to develop the competence in how to apply these concepts in a logical fashion to solve real world problems. Students can choose among a variety of degree programs designed to meet a range of career goals.

The BS Biochemistry program follows national guidelines and is aligned with pre-requisites for professional schools. In order to earn the bachelor of science degree with a major in chemistry, students must complete a minimum of 120 units with a Pacific cumulative and major/program grade point average of 2.0.

When you earn a chemistry degree at Pacific, you will build skills to give you confidence and a competitive edge as you enter the workplace or pursue graduate degrees. Unlike many other universities, Pacific offers undergraduates the opportunity to conduct hands-on research. Political science seeks to understand, to explain, and — sometimes — to evaluate how humans live and work together in public ways. To do so, political scientists focus on what happens in and around government and politics, how humans cooperate with and how they fight against one another, why some nations succeed and others fail.

Political scientists study voting and revolutions, the Supreme Court and the United Nations, the idea of justice and the nature of power, environmental policy, criminal law and gender politics - all in the pursuit of clearer knowledge about the characteristic ways humans interact in the public sphere.

That's pretty broad, but so is a physics degree. Physics majors of course most often go into scientific or technical fields (like optics, superconductivity, nanotechnology, new energy methods, etc.), but it is a very flexible degree. Physics majors go on to careers in biology, law, financial firms, teaching, and other areas — basically anywhere there are difficult problems to solve.

University of the Pacific’s engineering management program prepares students for leadership roles in today’s global workforce as engineers, managers and educators. Program graduates are prepared to pursue advanced-level studies or enter professional practice in a wide array of different industries, positions and projects.

The engineering management program is designed to provide students flexibility while providing a curriculum that integrates project and system engineering courses with courses within concentration areas; such as, civil or mechanical engineering.
