The Music Performance major offers you an opportunity to study the fundamental principles of your chosen instrument through a broad range of pedagogical approaches that culminate in the holistic performance of a broad range of literature. Our faculty are professional musicians and educators experienced in all facets of performance. Students have the opportunity to perform in master classes, solo recitals and in a wide range of ensembles including band, orchestra, jazz, choir, opera, contemporary and chamber music.

Students interested in a liberal arts education may satisfy a desire for a better understanding of themselves and others through a major in psychology. The Department of Psychology is a large, thriving community where students are exposed to several fascinating areas of study including behavioral, biological, clinical, cognitive, developmental and social psychology. Through these studies, students learn about the religious phenomena that have shaped human civilizations. In addition to deep knowledge of this religious and cultural activity, our students acquire intellectual skills that serve them throughout their educational endeavors and beyond. Religion has historically shaped and continues to influence cultures and institutions worldwide. It is useful to explore spiritual traditions in order to examine ultimate religious and ethical questions.

Students will graduate with the ability to reflect upon, appreciate, and be open to criticism, practices, beliefs, and institutions of other cultures as well as their own. Through this exposure, students come to better understand the world, themselves, and their place in the world.

With a major in Business Analytics, you will learn topics about data management, data analysis theories and methods, and advanced analytics tools. You will solve hands-on business problems in the Business Analytics laboratory. You will also be encouraged to select a focus area (accounting, finance, marketing, management, etc.) to conduct in-depth or industry-specific analysis.

Business Analytics is an exciting interdisciplinary field that addresses how information technology can be used to help organizations in our increasingly data-rich world. The business analytics curriculum at the Eberhardt School of Business (ESB) focuses on both tools and methodologies. It combines theory and applications with real-world projects and industry data.

Civil engineering encompasses the structures and systems of a functioning society. From the water people drink to the roads they travel on, the work of civil engineers serves and benefits society every day.

The civil engineering program is recognized for its practical curriculum, high academic standards and student-centered emphasis. In addition to the CO-OP experience, students have opportunities to participate in competitions and hands-on projects as part of their studies.

The mission of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology is to prepare reflective speech-language pathologists and audiologists for lifelong success by providing an excellent student-centered experiential learning environment. Our students are mentored in developing leadership, critical thinking skills, and a strong commitment to their profession and society. At Pacific, you will have the opportunity to learn through experience by interning or working with professional sociologists. That gives our program an added dimension that many larger programs do not provide. Our students are very active in campus and community organizations, enriching their experience as sociology majors.

That's pretty broad, but so is a physics degree. Physics majors of course most often go into scientific or technical fields (like optics, superconductivity, nanotechnology, new energy methods, etc.), but it is a very flexible degree. Physics majors go on to careers in biology, law, financial firms, teaching, and other areas — basically anywhere there are difficult problems to solve.
