The Secondary Education program prepares students to work in grades 7-12. Graduates of the Secondary Education program earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with certification in one subject area (listed below). Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language.

The Social Work program (designated as a pre-major) is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. At the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work, students learn about human dignity and the need for justice. They also learn about caring as the foundation for effective change and service that transforms lives and communities. Social Work is a profession that prepares practitioners to empower individuals. It also prepares them to advocate for social justice in organizations and communities. Coursework combines a thorough liberal arts education with field experience with community professionals. The Latin major, like the Greek major, is in the Classics Department. It is a rigorous study of the Classic Greek and Roman world. The Latin major focuses on original Latin texts and their cultural impact. Upon graduation, Latin majors are able to read and write in Latin. The coursework includes discussions on philosophy, history and religion.  Available courses include:

• Latin Poetry
• Latin Studies: Horace
• Latin Studies: Cicero

The International Year program is designed especially for international students. It is the first year of study at Baylor University, where students study a combination of English language courses and credit-bearing academic courses. So they can earn credits towards their degree from the beginning.

International Studies
International Studies is an interdisciplinary major administered by the Department of Political Science. Students learn about the social, political and economic issues confronting the international environment as well as regions of the world. The major includes extensive studies in a language of the student's choosing. Available courses include:    

• Multinational Business (summer in Europe)
• Power Morality and International Relations
• International Political Economics
• Contemporary Continental Philosophy
• Causes of War

The Middle Grades Education Program is ideal for students who are eager to work with growing minds and daily changes. When teaching middle grades students, who are discovering who they are and what they want to do with their lives, there is rarely a dull moment in the classroom. The program prepares highly qualified teachers that will earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with a specific subject in 4-8 certification. Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language.

The Religion major at Baylor is a combination of Biblical, historical and theological studies. Students also study cultural differences in religion around the world and are given the opportunity to select one of five concentrations.  These concentrations include Bible, Theology and Ethics, History, Practical Studies or World Religions. Majoring in Religion offers access to many career options. Many students continue their education by attending medical school, seminary, or graduate school. Some students enter careers like teaching, medicine, law, business, politics, publishing, writing, and social service.

The Composition major trains students to be composers and versatile musicians. It is designed to help young composers develop/find their style/voice and compose out of educated intentionality. The program contains instruction in conducting, electronic music, improvisation, orchestration, theory and history courses.  Composition courses include:

• Musicianship
• Jazz Arranging
• History of Music Theory
• Electroacoustic Composition
• Entrepreneurship in Music

The Composition program has a rigorous and broad curriculum. Graduates are well equipped to compose, perform, and teach. Many graduates also continue their education through graduate school.
