Education - Middle Grade Social Studies
The Middle Grades Education Program is ideal for students who are eager to work with growing minds and daily changes. When teaching middle grades students, who are discovering who they are and what they want to do with their lives, there is rarely a dull moment in the classroom. The program prepares highly qualified teachers that will earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with a specific subject in 4-8 certification. Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language.

The Master's International Year has been designed for students who don’t meet the entry requirements for direct admission to a Master’s engineering program at Baylor University.

What You Will Study
In the Master's International Program, you’ll study core courses in your Engineering program while developing your English language skills. Your first two semesters will be taught jointly by the University and the International Study Center, so you will be integrated into your Engineering program from the start. 

You’ll develop your engineering skills through coursework and practicum projects, which will vary depending on your interests and ambitions. Alongside engineering, you will be able to study complementary subjects such as business, mathematics, statistics and more – so you graduate ready to begin your career.

Computer Science
The department of Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in computer science. One of the strengths of the computer science program is the balance between theory and practice. Students are well versed in theory and programming while at the same time being exposed to real world situations thereby gaining valuable experience. Available courses include:

Students graduating with a BSCS in Computer Science are schooled in upper-level computer science topics with a solid foundation in mathematics and the sciences. Within the BSCS degree, students select a general computer science or software engineering track. The software engineering track emphasizes the methods used to produce and maintain high-quality software in a systematic, controlled and efficient manner. Students who are acquiring their BA in computer science acquire a traditional liberal arts education with a solid set of core computer science courses.

Education Certification - Physical Education
The Physical Education major prepares students for teaching or coaching grades K-12. This degree program satisfies the requirements for the Texas Teachers Certification and prepares students to teach grades K-12 with an emphasis in coaching in either a private or a public school setting. Baylor's general Engineering program (designated as a pre-major) offers five concentrations: Biomedical, Humanitarian, Environmental, Geo/Petro or a custom path. Each concentration consists of six or more classes specifically chosen from around the university to prepare students for a career in engineering.

The engineering program, accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, builds on a common core of basic sciences and mathematics, humanities and social sciences, and engineering sciences developed primarily in the first two years of study. Mathematics and basic sciences provide the technical foundation for the engineering curriculum.

Owing to the value of hands-on experience, Baylor helps students find rich opportunities for summer internships. Many graduates continue their professional education by attending graduate school programs in engineering, law, medicine or business.

The Gates Foundation recognizes sales as a top 5 career choice for 135 of 161 college majors. One key reason is that sales employs the largest number of business professionals and compensation is extremely attractive. Supported by the Center for Professional Selling, Baylor’s Professional Selling major equips students with core skills in selling, managing and growing long-term customer relationships.

ProSales guarantees placement in paid sales internships and placement prior to graduation for career roles. By competing in sales competitions at Baylor and across the country, students gain real-world sales experiences through high-level, complex role-play scenarios. Competitions, coursework and classroom experiences are the key to 100% placement in such organizations as 3M, Oracle, Owens Corning, A.J. Gallagher and Paycom, among others.

The Statistics program is designed to provide a balance between statistical theory and applications of statistical methods. It helps students discern how principles are applied to the collection, analysis, presentation and interpretation of data. With an emphasis being placed on acquiring research, consulting and teaching skills, the curriculum is applicable to biomedical, industrial and academic careers. Available courses include:

The Physics major is the study of matter, energy, force and motion and the way in which they relate to one another. The Mechanical Engineering major (designated as a pre-major) helps students build a strong engineering foundation by studying thermal/fluids, materials/mechanical systems and design. In addition to foundational mechanical engineering courses, students can further specialize by choosing electives that will improve their ability to apply fundamentals and to design machines and energy systems.
