The engineering program, accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, builds on a common core of basic sciences and mathematics, humanities and social sciences, and engineering sciences developed primarily in the first two years of study. Astrophysics is the branch of Astronomy that deals with the physics of space.
