The Applied Mathematics major focuses on applying math to real-life scenarios and industries. Students learn how to use mathematical concepts for problem-solving and decision making in a variety of environments. Courses include:

The Spanish language, a romance language, is now the second most prevalent language spoken globally. Baylor offers a Bachelor of Arts major as well as a minor in Spanish that gives students the opportunity to study the language, culture, literature and history of various Hispanic nations.  Available courses include:

Communication
The Communication major is a broad study of the process of human communication. Students will learn the importance of communication context in culture, professional fields and social movements. Coursework also includes study of the influence of communication on behavior and in turn, its influence on society. There are four tracks that students may choose from in the Communication major:

• Generalist
• Honors

Communication Specialist
The Communication Specialist major is a combination of studies in digital media and speech communication. This program of study blends a leadership/management/organizational communication focus with the development of expertise in digital media production. This major is appropriate for students with a wide array of career aspirations but is most appropriate for those intending to take advantage of communication expertise in a corporate career track. Courses available include:

The Professional Writing and Rhetoric (PWR) major provides students numerous opportunities to develop the writing, research, editing, and design expertise needed to excel in careers as copywriters, editors, screenwriters, public relations specialists, marketing coordinators, technical writers, attorneys, social media writers, non-profit writers, and other professional writing positions. Through faculty mentoring, writing internships, and writing-intensive courses, our major produces writers who are versatile communicators, creative professionals, and innovative problem-solvers.

The Physical Education major prepares students for teaching or coaching grades K-12. This degree program satisfies the requirements for the Texas Teachers Certification and prepares students to teach grades K-12 with an emphasis in coaching in either a private or a public school setting. The Baylor Education program offers a unique opportunity for students planning to teach upon graduation. Beginning freshman year, all teaching majors have several internships in different schools in Waco. Political Science is one of the most popular majors for students interested in law school. Baylor's Department of Political Science offers a pre-law track for political science majors.
