Applied Music
The music major is for serious musicians who are resolute about pursuing new frontiers and not afraid to challenge musical conventions. The major is in the liberal arts tradition.  It is a good fit for students who want a music degree, but also want to take extra courses outside their major course of study. Students develop their skills through theory and practice.  Areas of study include:

This degree allows students to develop the extraordinary skills necessary to fulfill their professional pursuits. In this degree, students may pursue studies that emphasize either performance or academic subjects in music.

Choral Music
The Choral Music major in the Bachelor of Music Education degree program is designed for students interested in teaching choral music or elementary general music in public schools. This degree leads to Texas teacher certification. Areas of study include:

Today’s ever expanding visual world is in increasing need of educated, visually trained professionals, whether as designers, teachers, artists, museum professionals, consultants, or for the many other professions that require creativity, visual acuity, and problem solving skills.

To meet these increasing needs the Baylor University Department of Art offers students both a BA or BFA (the professional undergraduate degree) in Studio Art with separate concentrations in seven area:

The History program at Baylor is for students intrigued by the stories we tell about our past. History is the study of the human past as it is constructed and interpreted, based on written, material, and oral evidence. It teaches us empathy for others, respectful debate, and appreciation for experiences unlike our own. History is essential to active national and global citizenship.

Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation program is designated as a pre-major. The program develops students' knowledge of the entrepreneurial process.  It also develops the technical tools and techniques required in various ventures. Several publications have recognized the strengths of the program with awards and recognitions.  These publications include U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine. Students may also pursue a Social Entrepreneurship Track.  Available courses include:

The program pairs with companies to provide summer and semester internships. The Hankamer School of Business offers student exchange and study abroad programs.  The program offers a few study abroad opportunities unique to the program.

The Theatre Design and Technology major is ideal for students who wish to pursue careers in set design, costume design, lighting design, or technical design. Students work with the Theatre Arts production crews and can select a focus within the design categories, which can help them build their portfolio throughout their time at Baylor. Astronomy
Astronomy is the study of the universe and all the bodies within it. It examines origins of the universe, stars and planets as well as how they move and evolve in space. Since scientists are rarely able to physically examine many objects in space, astronomy is mostly an observational science. Math, physics, chemistry and geology contribute to astronomy and help inform our understanding of the universe. Astronomy also relies on a variety of instruments, tools, and computer software for analysis and gathering data. Available courses include:

Slavic and East European Studies
Slavic and East European Studies surveys countries that make-up more than one-fifth of the global landmass and are collectively home to more than 300 million people. The Finance major is the study of the decision-making process involved in managing and acquiring assets to create a profit. It is a pre-major.  The major offers two focuses, Corporate Finance and Investments. Corporate Finance is the study of research and acquisition of assets for companies.
