The International Year program is designed especially for international students. It is the first year of study at Baylor University, where students study a combination of English language courses and credit-bearing academic courses. Apparel Merchandising
The Apparel Merchandising program focuses on developing professional skills, such as communication, analytical thinking, teamwork and ethical behavior. These skills help sustain graduates as they apply management and marketing theory and business principles to the global fashion industry. Courses include:

• Visual Merchandising and Promotion

The Theatre Design and Technology major is ideal for students who wish to pursue careers in set design, costume design, lighting design, or technical design. Students work with the Theatre Arts production crews and can select a focus within the design categories, which can help them build their portfolio throughout their time at Baylor. The Biochemistry major is designed to provide a firm foundation in biochemistry and prepare students for careers in health-related disciplines, medical research or biotechnology. A solid background in biochemistry is an important advantage for medical school and many Biochemistry majors declare a Pre-Health track. The Master's International Year has been designed for students who don’t meet the entry requirements for direct admission to a Master’s engineering program at Baylor University.

What You Will Study
In the Master's International Program, you’ll study core courses in your Engineering program while developing your English language skills. Your first two semesters will be taught jointly by the University and the International Study Center, so you will be integrated into your Engineering program from the start. 

You’ll develop your engineering skills through coursework and practicum projects, which will vary depending on your interests and ambitions. Alongside engineering, you will be able to study complementary subjects such as business, mathematics, statistics and more – so you graduate ready to begin your career.

General Family and Consumer Sciences
The General Family & Consumer Sciences (GFCS) program at Baylor University focuses on issues that affect individuals, families and communities. Discussion involves issues that relate to the basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, and relationships. Students in this major study different populations as they encounter the challenges of living and working in a global society.

The Recreation and Leisure Services major is for students who want to work in recreation. The RLS curriculum offers the business and programming classes needed for all leisure service careers, and provides the foundation for almost any recreation field. Available courses include:

The department of Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in computer science. One of the strengths of the computer science program is the balance between theory and practice. Students are well versed in theory and programming while at the same time being exposed to real world situations thereby gaining valuable experience. Available courses include:

Students graduating with a BSCS in Computer Science are schooled in upper-level computer science topics with a solid foundation in mathematics and the sciences. Within the BSCS degree, students select a general computer science or software engineering track. The software engineering track emphasizes the methods used to produce and maintain high-quality software in a systematic, controlled and efficient manner. Students who are acquiring their BA in computer science acquire a traditional liberal arts education with a solid set of core computer science courses.

Astronomy
Astronomy is the study of the universe and all the bodies within it. It examines origins of the universe, stars and planets as well as how they move and evolve in space. Since scientists are rarely able to physically examine many objects in space, astronomy is mostly an observational science. Math, physics, chemistry and geology contribute to astronomy and help inform our understanding of the universe. Astronomy also relies on a variety of instruments, tools, and computer software for analysis and gathering data. Available courses include:
