Art History
Art History is the study of various mediums of art and their changes over time. Studied mediums include painting, sculpture, graphic arts and other visual forms. The histories of these mediums are compared alongside political, religious, and cultural shifts. Students learn to examine and scrutinize artwork through spoken and written word. Coursework also includes the study of the impact history and art have had on one another. Course topics include:

• Greek and Roman
• Renaissance and Baroque
• Contemporary Art
• 19th-21st Century European and American Art

The Albritton Art Institute focuses on 19th and 20th century European and American artists. Each semester, the institute provides fully funded field studies that allow students to observe and analyze artwork firsthand. Past destinations include New York City, London, Chicago, Vienna, and Venice.

The small size of the art history programs fosters a high degree of individual interaction with the faculty and a serious intellectual atmosphere. The fact that the art history faculty are both active scholars and strong teachers provide unique opportunities for Baylor's art history majors to develop significant experience and expertise both inside and outside the classroom.

Sociology
Sociology is the science that studies the social relationships of people. Coursework includes the study of a wide range of human behaviors from individual development, to relational growth, social institutions including groups, organizations, cultures and social structures. Religion
The Religion major at Baylor is a combination of Biblical, historical and theological studies. Students also study cultural differences in religion around the world and are given the opportunity to select one of five concentrations.  These concentrations include Bible, Theology and Ethics, History, Practical Studies or World Religions. Greek
Greek program is in the Classics Department. Students with a Greek major study texts taught in their original language, grammar and Greek culture. Coursework also includes the study of philosophy, religion and history as well as archaeology and art associated with the Greek language.  Available courses include:

• Seminar in New Testament Greek

Journalism
The Department of Journalism, Public Relations and New Media educates students in writing, editing, photography and public relations for written and graphic communication. There are three sequences (tracks) available. Each sequence maintains the same required Journalism Core and highlights different areas within the field of journalism.

The News-Editorial sequence focuses on developing reporting, writing and editing skills. The Public Relations sequence emphasizes the importance of branding and public image. The New Media sequence includes both advertising skills (copywriting, research design and media planning) and photojournalism that focuses more on the visual components of journalism. Available courses include:

• Writing for Media Markets
• Reporting and Writing for Media

Piano Pedagogy
The Pedagogy major in the School of Music develops the student's skill in both playing and teaching piano. It is a comprehensive degree program with many opportunities for valuable teaching experiences. Classes prepare future teachers to work with all levels and ages of students in both group and private settings.

The Classics major is a comprehensive study of ancient Greece and Rome. Consequently, students will have the opportunity to study culture, history and language of Latin and Greek. Students also read ancient writings in their original text. The degree program encourages educational diversity and offers a wide range of electives such as art, history, philosophy and religion. The department of Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in computer science. One of the strengths of the computer science program is the balance between theory and practice. Students are well versed in theory and programming while at the same time being exposed to real world situations thereby gaining valuable experience. Available courses include:

• Computers in Society
• Numerical Methods
• Data Structures
• Systems Programming

Students graduating with a BSCS in Computer Science are schooled in upper-level computer science topics with a solid foundation in mathematics and the sciences. Within the BSCS degree, students select a general computer science or software engineering track. The software engineering track emphasizes the methods used to produce and maintain high-quality software in a systematic, controlled and efficient manner. Students who are acquiring their BA in computer science acquire a traditional liberal arts education with a solid set of core computer science courses.

The department of Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in computer science. The University Scholars major is a program within the Honors College. It is the most selective Baylor academic program and requires a separate application. The UNSC major fosters a love of inter-transdisciplinary discourse in the Liberal Arts and Sciences that affirms the student's unlimited potential in the rich academic and co-curricular offerings of Baylor University.

As their intellectual passion and vocation become apparent, students work with mentors in their disciplines of interest to craft an individualized educational journey made up of two or more concentrations. The degree plan includes a required reading list that needs to be completed by the students' junior year with the students' chosen major. The reading list consists of works of literature, politics, theology, and philosophy. These topics are discussed in small, seminar-style classes. Students must complete an exit interview in the spring of their junior year based on the required readings. As part of the program, students must also complete a senior thesis.
