DePaul’s history program is designed to help you engage in developing a critical understanding of the past, as well as its impact on the present and the future.

The bachelor’s degree in history curriculum combines a breadth of chronological and geographical areas. Courses examine history in the Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe. Through the program, you’ll learn how to conduct research and communicate effectively (individually and in teams), develop writing skills and analyze sources.

Work Permit USA

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.

It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

  1. Pre-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment provided to F-1 students before completion of their course of study.
  2. Post-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment available to F-1 students after completing their course of study.
  3. 24 Month STEM Extension: Students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses can a 24-month extension after their initial Post-Completion OPT authorization.

The Media and Cinema Studies degree combines courses from the film, television, radio and new media fields of study. You will develop an understanding of critical frameworks and theories in media studies, as well as develop your creativity and technological skills.

You will take courses from the College of Communication, the School of Cinematic Arts and other university departments. And you will have access to DePaul’s green screen studio, control room, film editing suites and the digital equipment facility.

Traditional Animation
The Traditional Animator Concentration is for students who are interested in deepening their knowledge of traditional animation, including hand-drawn, stop motion, and hybrid methods, with an eye towards a production career in animation. Students in this concentration will train in the history, critical artistic issues, and fundamental principles that are necessary for animation artists. Master of Science in Mathematics for Teaching

Prepare to share your skills and knowledge as a classroom instructor of math. DePaul’s MS in Mathematics for Teaching is the only graduate program in the area for career-changers planning to teach math at the community college level. Intensive weekend and evening sessions focus on

  • Differential and integral calculus, numerical algorithms related to calculus and implementation of these algorithms using graphing calculators and web-based software;
  • Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry using software packages that emphasize content connected to the high school curriculum;
  • Discrete mathematical structures with an emphasis on logic, proof and mathematical reasoning;
  • Probability and statistics with an introduction to combinatorics;
  • History of elementary number theory, algebra and geometry;
  • Topics in abstract algebra that relate to high school courses in algebra, geometry and trigonometry;

Mathematical Finance Concentration
