In the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematical Sciences programs, your mathematics degree coursework will teach you fundamentals of pure and applied mathematics, preparing you for a career in mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, social sciences or business.

As a mathematics degree student, you’ll choose one of the following seven concentrations:

Students that are admitted to the MS program are hired as teaching assistants, and provided tuition waivers and stipends. This demanding MFA program equips aspiring documentary filmmakers with both a deep understanding of the documentary genre and strong skills in film production. The curriculum integrates knowledge of documentary’s history, styles, traditions, affinity for research and development, and varied approaches to storytelling and production with high production values, effective post-production, and the ability to take creative work to its audiences.

The Master of Science in Film and Television emphasizes technical and creative proficiency in the areas of cinematography, editing, and sound for the screen. This intensive program is designed for students looking to acquire and further professional career skills in film and television. The degree is well-suited for career-changers as well as experienced professionals who want to add new technologies and creative workflows to their expertise.

Our master’s of Occupational Therapy program will prepare you to become an occupational therapist who treats children and adults with various developmental physical, cognitive and psychological conditions. You’ll be trained to work in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, clinics and private practice.

With an emphasis of providing care to members of our urban, global environment, this program is rooted in our Catholic, Vincentian mission. Here, Occupational Therapy program students will learn to:

• Advocate for access, inclusion and social justice within health, educational and community settings
• Develop culturally-relevant, occupation-based interventions to improve health and participation within communities
• Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver ethical, effective care

Through our master’s of Occupational Therapy program, your classes will cover four themes:

• Community, justice and advocacy
• Effective occupation-based practice
• Critical skills for Identity as an Occupational Therapist

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

The graduate music education program offers certified/licensed music teachers the opportunity to earn a master's degree in a little over two years with courses in the evenings and summers. Educational theory and practice merge throughout course work, and students have the flexibility to select elective areas of study. The program culminates with a final paper or project, allowing students to research an area of special interest.

DePaul’s Art program provides a broad foundation in studio art with classes that focus on understanding fundamental artistic concepts through research and conceptual thinking, creative problem solving, artistic skill development, and the historical functions of art and how it impacts the present day and the future.
