DePaul’s Master of Public Service Management (MPS) is designed to teach you broad-based management skills that lead to careers across many sectors, including nonprofit, governmental agencies, higher education and health care.

You’ll choose a concentration in one of the following areas:

• Emergency Management
• Health Care Administration
• Higher Education Administration
• Metropolitan Planning and Urban Affairs

Higher Education Administration Concentration
For managers in post-secondary institutions of learning, this concentration teaches necessary analytical and managerial skills. The coursework helps students develop an understanding of management principles, policy analysis, and research within higher education. Electives provide opportunities to explore leadership, governance, strategic planning, budgeting, finance, law, diversity, enrollment management, marketing, student affairs, and politics in higher education.

The World Language Education (WLE) program integrates education and language courses. Your foreign language education degree will prepare you to teach kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private schools.

As part of this program, you will take language courses from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and education courses from the College of Education. You will earn a BA from the College of Education, and concentrations are offered in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

Earn your graduate accounting degree and complete the additional credits to qualify for the CPA exam with the master’s in Audit and Advisory Services. You’ll gain practical, advanced auditing skills to excel in a career in a public accounting firm or corporate internal audit department.

Become a financial data expert. Know what questions to ask and how to interpret the findings. Acquire sought-after skills in

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

Study communication in the context of popular culture, the corporate world, interpersonal relationships and new media with a master’s degree in Communication and Media. Develop diverse areas of interest while focusing on a specific content area with an optional concentration in Interpersonal Communication, Media and Cinema Studies, Multicultural Communication or Organizational Communication. You’ll master the tools and frameworks to critically examine and resolve real-life communication issues.

Multicultural Communication
The Multicultural Communication concentration focuses on the dynamics of communication across cultures. It explores not only what happens when people of two different cultures meet, but also what happens when people from a variety of cultures and ethnicities come together in one organization, community or country.

This concentration will be of interest to those who work with international and multiethnic corporations and to public service personnel serving individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultural traditions.

The Master of Science in Film and Television emphasizes technical and creative proficiency in the areas of cinematography, editing, and sound for the screen. This intensive program is designed for students looking to acquire and further professional career skills in film and television. The degree is well-suited for career-changers as well as experienced professionals who want to add new technologies and creative workflows to their expertise.

In the Spanish program, you will study the language, literature and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. Over 400 million people speak Spanish as their native language and it is the official language of 21 countries; it’s also one of the official languages of the United Nations and the European Union.

More than 40 million native Spanish speakers live in the United States, and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish will develop your fluency and communication skills in our interconnected world.

Chicago is a diverse city with numerous Latin American communities. Practice your Spanish while exploring festivals, neighborhoods, restaurants, museums, and other cultural institutions that will allow you to experience firsthand the richness of the Spanish-speaking world.

As a Biochemistry major, you’ll learn the fundamentals of chemical and biochemical theory and practice through scientific investigation, laboratory experience and research.

You’ll take courses that cover all aspects of chemistry, including analytical, biochemical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, as well as courses in biology, physics and mathematics.
