The Master of Social Work (MSW) program will prepare you for advanced social work, with attention to professional ethics, respect for human rights and recognition of the inherent dignity of all people. The curriculum is grounded equally in theory and practical application. Choose from one of two concentrations:

• The Community Practice concentration prepares you to lead human service organizations.
• The Forensic Social Work concentration prepares you for practice and advocacy in settings where human services and the legal system intersect.

You’ll be grouped in a small cohort, which enables you to get to know your colleagues and receive individualized attention from your professors.

In our Cybersecurity program, you’ll learn the fundamentals of information security, security infrastructure design and implementation, computer forensics, risk assessment and the impact of security requirements on business operations.

Throughout your cybersecurity degree coursework, you’ll learn to design, implement and manage various security infrastructure components. You’ll gain real-world experience by using DePaul’s state-of-the-art Security Laboratory, which includes multi-vendor firewalls, virtual private networks (VPN), intrusion detection and prevention systems, routers, switches, security scanners and event correlation systems.

In the Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies major, you will critically examine the origins and root causes of violence and conflict, and learn strategies for resolving interpersonal, communal and international conflicts peacefully. You will master the theoretical and intellectual frameworks related to peace building, human rights advocacy and justice development by learning to interpret real life situations and applying strategies for advocacy, consensus-building, partnership development and other intervention tools.

You will complete an internship with an organization related to peace, social justice or conflict resolution.

Our nationally ranked Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) will prepare you to be a proficient, industry-ready accountant. If you’re looking to sit for the CPA exam or transition into professional accounting, but don’t have an undergraduate accountancy degree, this program is for you. With a master’s in Accountancy from DePaul, you’ll gain a solid understanding of a variety of business disciplines and their relationships to accounting issues.

The Master of Science in Game Programming is designed for those interested in game development programming at the highest level, including real time computing, computer graphics, and professional retooling for the game industry. Students will learn about software engineering, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, animation, software architecture, and networking. The game programming degree addresses the real-world needs of industry through special, topic-based classes. Courses are taught with a mixture of theory and applied practice. Covering both emerging trends and proven knowledge, the program's content is always relevant and current. This combination of approaches allows students to understand the connection between realized applied systems and issues they'll likely face professionally in years to come.

Through our Healthcare Markets and Analytics MBA concentration, you’ll become prepared to analyze and use health data to make managerial decisions.

Our MBA in healthcare management program teaches you to use decision-making algorithms that apply data to economic models. Your courses will focus on economics within the health care sector — an industry that accounts for more than one-fifth of the U.S. economy.

• How the behavior of the health care sector adheres to and deviates from key economic principles.
• The crucial and ever-increasing role of data in guiding the decision-making process of policymakers in the health care industry.

Higher Education Administration Concentration
For managers in post-secondary institutions of learning, this concentration teaches necessary analytical and managerial skills. The coursework helps students develop an understanding of management principles, policy analysis, and research within higher education. Electives provide opportunities to explore leadership, governance, strategic planning, budgeting, finance, law, diversity, enrollment management, marketing, student affairs, and politics in higher education.

The graduate jazz studies program provides students a comprehensive education in jazz, allowing students to specialize in either performance or composition. Drawing upon the resources of the Chicago jazz scene, faculty members are highly celebrated performers, teachers, composers, and arrangers. In addition to applied jazz lessons, jazz ensembles, and jazz combos, Master of Music students enroll in courses such as jazz theory, history, pedagogy, improvisation, composing, and/or arranging. Throughout the program, jazz students have multiple opportunities to record performances and compositions in professional recording studios.

As part of the Grace School of Applied Diplomacy at DePaul, our Master of Applied Diplomacy program unites traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field of diplomacy. Here, we know that the work of diplomacy is not limited to members of the foreign service, but practiced by members of non-governmental organizations, business people, scientists, and community organizers.

Urban Diplomacy
The Urban Diplomacy concentration examines the practice of diplomacy within the boundaries of a single city. Students learn how to apply the tools and understanding of diplomatic practices like mediation, conflict resolution, advocacy, and leadership within the context of local government, community organizing, and globally-connected business.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.
