The Health Administration major provides students with a university education that promotes personal and professional growth as well as concentrated awareness of health systems and their effects on society. The degree in Health Administration - Bachelor of Health Services (BHS) - offered through the Department of Management at FAU, College of Business, is an Associate Member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration ( AUPHA.org). The program is also fully accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Economics has become an integral part of our modern society. An understanding of economics is indispensable when it comes to running a successful business, making sense of international events and analyzing government policy. Graduates with a background in economics enjoy a unique advantage in that economics offers a specialized and powerful framework for tackling today’s problems in the increasingly competitive and global economy.

Economics with a Business Economics concentration (ECON-EBUS): This program has the same diverse foundation in core business principles as other majors in the College, but also integrates economics courses in such a way that the student can analyze business problems with the insight that the economics discipline offers.

The Department of Marketing offers programs of study that prepare students for professional careers in the growing fields of brand management, retailing management, digital marketing, social media, advertising, and personal selling and sales management. Applied projects are interwoven with academic coursework to expose students to a range of current marketing trends and strategies. Original research and creative scholarship among department faculty contribute to improvements in both the theory and practice of marketing. Students are prepared to become effective marketing managers in the customer-centered marketplace of tomorrow.

Philosophy has a very important role to play in the acquisition of a higher education.  The study of philosophy fosters an appreciation for the most fundamental ideas, questions, and texts that have profoundly shaped our culture.  However, the study of philosophy also lead to the rigorous development of very practical skills, such as critical thinking, clear and precise writing,  analytical skills, persuasive oral communication, and the ability to read and comprehend conceptually challenging texts.  These skills will help students succeed in life and in any career that they choose to pursue after earning their Bachelor's degree.

The Philosophy Department at Florida Atlantic University offers a high quality Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy.  In fact, s everal philosophy majors from Florida Atlantic University have successfully pursued their graduate/professional education at institutions such as Oxford University, Columbia University, Princeton University, The New School Universisty (formerly, The New School for Social Research), SUNY Stony Brook, and SUNY Binghampton.

Civil engineers design the constructed environment and the infrastructure that supports our society. In the liberal arts tradition, the FAU Bachelor of Arts in Theatre curriculum is intended for students seeking a broad exposure to the study of theatre and drama. It provides students with a broad range of valuable skills.

Through voice, movement and dance classes, students learn to control their voice’s pitch, projection, breathing, and articulation. Their dance and movement classes teach them to become poised, self-assured, natural, and expressive onstage.

Classes such as Dramatic Theory & Genre and Script Analysis encourage students to listen and learn, observe and concentrate with a heightened sense of awareness. The theatre environment can be quite competitive and they’ll learn to solve problems using critical thought processes in creative ways. The B.A. in Theatre is a program well-suited for those who may eventually want to pursue graduate studies in Theatre.

Secondary Teacher Education degree programs are offered in partnership with the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters and the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. These programs are Florida Department of Education (DOE) and Council for Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP) approved. The Commercial Music program offers a comprehensive undergraduate curriculum to help students develop specific skills for a professional career in the music industry. Hoot/Wisdom Records L.L.C. is Florida Atlantic University’s official record label. Administered by the Commercial Music program, the label provides students with practical experience in the production, marketing, and distribution of sound recordings.

The Commercial Music Composition concentration provides majors with skills and experience in composing, arranging, producing, and recording music for a variety of applications, including film, television, and digital media.
