Designed to develop and prepare the business leaders of tomorrow to tackle the challenges of the global business environment, the major in Management has two tracks: Leadership and Applied Management, and Entrepreneurship.

Students in the Leadership track have opportunities to advance in human resources and management with various levels of responsibility building successful teams while managing an increasingly complex business environment. Successful leaders develop the strategies, plans, procedures, and policies that guide a business team in the short and long term. Successful leaders do so by coordinating human, financial, and material assets to achieve organizational objectives.

Students in the Entrepreneurship track receive mentoring and develop the skills they need to start their own business or work in a business startup. Entrepreneurs are at the heart of job growth. Students with the intentions of one day leading their own business will benefit from this quality program. In addition, students have numerous resources available on campus such as the Adams Center For Entrepreneurship and the Research Park at FAU to assist them with a start-up. Both tracks are designed to permit a dual major or minor in a targeted area of interest.

Environmental engineers integrate principles of engineering, mathematics, earth science, soil science, life science, and materials science with an emphasis on the design and development of solutions to environmental challenges, such as improvement of water, air pollution control, safe disposal of wastes, and the stewardship of our natural resources.

Secondary Teacher Education degree programs are offered in partnership with the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters and the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. These programs are Florida Department of Education (DOE) and Council for Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP) approved. The Program in Italian Studies is a modern, forward-looking program that has found a dignified place in the multicultural and interdisciplinary environment of the college, without losing its own identity and integrity. It has been supported by the notion that the relationship between Italy and its hitherto mostly European literary, cultural, linguistic-philosophical and historical contexts is a horizontal one. In this spirit, and as we cross the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, the Italian program has striven to offer the kinds of courses that reflect Italy as part of the mappa mundi and encourages and integrates course work in other languages and disciplines.

Welcome to le site for French Studies in the Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Comparative Literature at FAU. Our program’s mission is to promote the study of French language, literature, linguistics, and culture through interdisciplinary pedagogical approaches. Our courses therefore stress the importance of French as a vibrant language with a strong global presence, as they examine the rich variety and ongoing international influence of French and Francophone traditions and civilizations from the Middle Ages to the present, from Europe to the Caribbean (and beyond).

The Multimedia Journalism Sequence prepares students to work in the new media convergence environment — where competition, deregulation, and digital technology break down the barriers among print, radio, television, and the Internet.

Students are expected to develop strong basic writing and analytical skills and then to become adept at writing and producing for multiple media platforms simultaneously, exhibiting the versatility necessary to succeed in a quickly evolving and growing media market.

The goals of the Multimedia Journalism Sequence are to provide a broad liberal arts education as well as develop professional skills so that graduates are able to fully exercise the civic responsibilities of journalists for the lively functioning of democratic institutions. In addition, students will choose an emphasis in another discipline that will help them fulfill the important role of information provider in today's global, technological, and information-based society.

Computer science is the study of computers, computer software, and computational systems including their theory, design, development, and application. Principal areas within computer science include Internet and web programming, mobile system development, data mining, and machine learning, social networks, video game development, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, database systems, programming languages, software engineering, and theory of computing. Computer science incorporates concepts from mathematics, engineering, and psychology.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is a program for students to study computers, computer software, and computation systems including their theory, design, development, and application.

The brain arguably represents the only object on earth with complexity that is greater than the sum of its parts. Neuroscience incorporates diverse aspects of science including biology, psychology, chemistry, physics, computer science and medicine. Furthermore, our understanding of the brain influences nearly all aspects of society ranging from art, to criminal justice to health care. The Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Behavior, provides comprehensive training in the foundations of modern neuroscience. Graduates from this program are prepared for diverse careers including medical school or other health care related fields, graduate school, clinical counseling and education.

The Neuroscience and Behavior undergraduate degree is jointly administered by the Department of Psychology and the Department of Biological Sciences. The degree provides undergraduate preparation for students interested in pursuing graduate degrees in all areas of neuroscience and/or behavioral biology, or in pursuing professional degrees. A minimum of 120 total credits (including degree and university mandated courses) is required.

This degree program provides unique research opportunities and expert instruction to give you tools for changing the ways you see and interact with your world you won't find at any other campus. In addition to course work, qualified students have the opportunity to partake in world-class neuroscience research via Directed Independent Study or special research courses at FAU campuses, or in collaboration with The Scripps Research Institute or Max Planck Florida Institute of Neuroscience.

The Bachelor of Science with Major in Data Science and Analytics (BSDSA) is a multi-college, interdisciplinary program jointly administered by the Department of Mathematical Sciences in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, the Department of Information Technology and Operations Management {ITOM) in the College of Business, the Department of Political Science in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters and the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice in the College of Social Work and Criminal Justice.
